We decided to get a chinese delivered tonight after a menu was posted through our door earlier today, we went out lastnight and i just couldn't be arsed cooking!
Anyway, we hadn't used this place before but it sounded good.
We got the set meal for 2 for me paul and keane to share.
Well, we had the starter which was really nice, then opened the rice (yung chow fried rice or something) and it stunk! I just got a whiff so i smelt it and omg i was nearly sick! Something was definately off, i love chinese food and i know it doesn't smell like that!
So then i couldn't eat anything else at all, it totaly put me off. So paul rung them and complained, and they offered to replace the food but we said no we didn't want anything from them now, so they came to collect the food, reckoned the chef wanted to have a look at it, but they wouldn't give us our money back!!!
It was the manager that came to collect the food and i went to the door and had words with him, he said he can't give us the money back, but then said if the chef says there is something wrong with it he will bring us the money back. So i said 'right then, i'll be waiting for your phone call then, and if you don't ring i will be reporting you tomorrow'
And guess what? He hasn't rung!
I am bloody fuming, £17 that cost us, and all i have eaten is one mini spring roll and 2 bits of prawn toast.
I don't know whether to ring them again now and ask what they thought of the food, but of course they are gonna deny it aren't they. I WILL be reporting them tomorrow though to environmental health and possibly trading standards, because at the end of the day all he had to do was say sorry and give us the money back, wouldn't any decent person do that??!!

did you keep any of it by any chance? managers will always blame chefs but they really should be keeping on an eye on whether food was fresh or not0

There is quite alot of it in the kitchen bin :starmod: May all your wishes come true! :starmod:0

you should scoop some out and when you complain about it, let them know that youve kept some for them to take a look at x0

You turned down their offer of a replacement of that dish and didn't eat the rest.
Why did you expect a free meal?
And what's to be gained by wasting the time of trading standards and the environmental health dept??"Love you Dave Brooker! x"

I didn't expect a free meal!
We paid £17 for the meal, it was off! I wanted my money back, whats wrong with that?
And i feel it should be brought to the attention of environmetal health, it could have made us very ill if we had eaten it!
You can't go around serving off food to people.
Are you telling me that if you were served food that was off that you would still be happy to pay fot it?
I didn't want anything else from them, they didn't know what was off, so therefore i would probably had the same prob with the replacement, plus, it really out me off and i won't be eating anything from there again.:starmod: May all your wishes come true! :starmod:0 -

So you would eat food that was off and other food from the same place?
What do you think the enviromental health and trading standards are there for? They aren't there to sit at a desk all day twiddling their tumbs!!
They are there to deal with issues like this!
I say ring them up and report the take away place!
And, ring the take away place and demand you money back!:T
Good luck!!0 -
somethings sounds suss - if they had nothing to hide then they would have rung you back and disputed your claim
the fact that they didnt just proves that somethings not right
as has been mentioned get enviro health involved and get them to take samples of the food that you have keept which you sh0ould have now extracted from your bin0 -
why not ring them first to see what they've got to say. maybe the chef and manager got taken ill after eating the food and that's why didn't ring back.0

OP rings them and says food is bad, takeaway depatch manager to have a look and offer a replacement.
What more could they do?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"
