How many times do you read a description where the seller says things like 'the item is a dark shade of green, not purple as shown in the photo'? You see it a lot and that's because photos aren't reliable. If the colour is important to the buyer then oughtn't they to ask the seller a question about it?

The photograph taken by the OP is a very good example of what I'm talking about. It looks just like the photo in the listing to me, and I can't see the colour difference.

Had the seller described the colour as 'blue/grey' then the item would have been 'not as described', but s/he didn't state the colour.

Incidentally, I've just asked my son 'what colour is that in the photo?'
He said it was red. He's colour blind.

The pic on the auction looks black and grey to me.

The pic above looks black and grey/browny to me, so it could well be the one the seller had for sale.

    Same here.

When I followed the EBAY link I thought the seller had sent you a different coloured item, but now I have seen your piccy of it, it looks the same colour - dark blue/black and light blue/grey.

Its certainly not blue so the photos are obviously not capturing the colours correctly. So i guess i should have asked but the seller should have also stated the colour.

Im getting a refund so alls well.

All is well for you, but as I said before, all isnt well for the seller.

Try seeing things from her side too.

Shes refunding me the price of the item, not the postage and i paid to send it back so shes not really losing out. Possibly a few pence in fees but would have covered that in the postage.
