Dispute over the colour of this item.

Can some of you lovely people look at the above auction and tell me what colour of car seat cover you see.

I see a bluey / grey ish one with black round the outside.

It has arrived and its a black / brown check pattern. I have queried it and the seller says to them the picture is clearly black and brown.

I bought it under the impression it was blue so would i be within my rights to ask to return it for a refund?

Many thanks.

Thank you, was worried my eyes were faulty! lol

Yes i paid via paypal. Do I now ask the seller for a refund to give her a chance to sort it before going straight to a claim?

It's blue/grey to me. If you got a brown one then I'd say it's not as described. Do you have a pic of the one that you received?

I will go and take one just now, I did consider taking a pic of the one I got and sending it to the seller.

I don't think there is any guarantee that paypal will find in your favour as the colour is not stated in the auction. It might be worth keep trying the seller as best you can, as that might be the best bet of an outcome here.

However, if you do go to a paypal dispute make sure you take the opportunity to upload a picture of the cover you receievd, The facility is there in the dispute console as I came across it recently.

It appears we all, apart from the seller, see the same bluey/greyish seat cover.

It appears this may not be the first time the seller has dispatched a different item to that photographed.
trousers colour totally different from photo.seller couldn't care less

Fortunately, they won't be able to do that again :)

It's usually best to approach the seller without raising a formal dispute initially. A dispute usually just brings up the defence barriers. As soon as there appears to be any arguement, raise a dispute. The dispute is not a claim in itself and can be closed if you are get what you want resulting in no action - all it does is records the discussion and agreements made should either of you decide to raise the dispute to a claim. I would only raise it to a claim once no chance of a resolution is likely, but before the cut-off time (I think 20 days after the dispute is initially raised, but you will be advised and reminded of this before auto-closure)

If paypal fail to find in your favour, you could always try a county court. With so many people appearing to agree with you, I guess a judge would too
(but then none of us has seen the actual item yet, but the seller seems to agree it is actually a brown check they have supplied)
