Hi,
I'm getting married at the end of July too (26th!), not done anything as we only decided last week! However I have the bridesmaids dress and my corset top, just got to find anything else!
For favors I'm thinking I'll get some rock (we're getting married in newquay), tied with turquoise ribbon.
Good luck with the planning!
I'm suit shopping this weekend, cant wait!

Congratulations!! The favours sound great. Good luck with organising things.[0 -
WHat about reducing the cost of your hair and make-up? Do you maybe have a friend who could do those for you? Have a few practice nights (good excuse for a girly night) to make sure she gets it right. That would save you over £100 pound right there. Hi thanks, that's the only bit of the budget which is a guess! I'm having my hair dyed and highlighted a couple of weeks before (need to cover my emerging grey!) and then washed and styled on the day. Haven't booked anyone for make up but also don't own much so just guessed a price for buying make up/getting someone to do it.
Also, I really would consider artifical flowers. As I keep saying I got my bouquet, 2 bridesmaids bouquet and 1 buttonhole off ebay for £17. It wasn't quite what I wanted, so my Mum got a couple of sprays of artificial flowers and some ribbon. And now they look really lovely. And the total cost was about £22. Wow! That's impressive- any links?
Do you have any friends whoa re keen gardeners and have lovely flowers? Maybe you could have some flowers fresh from their garden, tied together with a ribbon? One of my mums friends does will look into it.
I agree about the evening buffet. If you are having a sit down meal, then most people won't want a huge amount in the evening. Why not do something a little different, like get huge pots of soup and bread for everyone - or alternatively, loads and loads of sweet treats. Or just small nibbles like crisps, peanuts, shortbread etc. I'm planning to have mini muffins, chocolate crispies, etc etc, as most people will have had a main meal and it's fun to just have everyone indulge in kiddie puddings.
Thanks for your ideas
It is nice to get other people's opinions.
My dress is here and i brought it for £41.10 but a lovely moneysaver who i was talking to at the time, kindly paid for it as a gift (so it was Free) only reason it was cheap was because it had been the display model, never been worn apart from a dummy. So now im the next dummy to wear it! : http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_64885_530493_-1
Gosh you did well with that!
Bridesmaid Dresses are here and i brought one for £30 (Including the shawl) from ebay. Been worn once: http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_64971_483131_-1
Also an amazing price
Jewellery isnt really that big of a deal for us as my auntie resently died and im going to be wearing what she left behind. So its like shes part of the wedding even though shes not there
That is a lovely thought!
Men suite hire is about £57 but im going to be hiring about 4 so im going to haggle and speak to a friend of a friend and try get them down to £50 each.
Thankyou for your ideas.[0 -
Gosh! Think I replied to everyone, sorry if I missed anyone!

Thankyou to everyone for your input, it really helps to get other people's opinions and I sometimes think my friends who aren't getting married get a bit fed up with wedding talk!!
I now need to look through everyone's ideas again and sort out some of the things I can try and cut down on! Oooh and send my passport off or I'll be saving alot on the honeymoon by going to Skegness!!
Thanks again.:T[0 -

Sorry, the seller I bought form doesn't sell anymore.
However this is very similar:

If you want I'll take pics of my bouquets, so you can see the quality. Of course they are not as "nice" as real flowers but they will look lovely in the photos and won't need so much care on the day.
Also they can be recycled afterwards (or sold! LOl). In fact, I still had an artificial bouquet from when I was bridesmaid for my cousin. We took that one apart and managed to make button holes for all the men folk (my brothers, best man etc) and the corsages for the 2 Mums. :T0
