Ice cream was fantastic... Baked alaska... With the little polar bears in it!!!

Just been looking at honeymoon destinations... OH really wants to go to a place in Greece, it's going to work out at just under a grand if we book through holiday republic but that's all inclusive... Don't know whether we should just hold our nerve and book something right at the last minute... at the risk of ending up somewhere dodgy though,...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

I know it's quite tempting to leave it tho isn't it.

Thanks paddingtonboo will hopefully need some sun cream (tho still need to send my passport off.) :o

I have another dilemma, I know I have been talking about flowers but I am pretty allergic so I was wondering about silk flowers but not sure what they would look like. Any opinions/experience with them?

I went to my mum's yesterday and she had flowers and my eyes started and my nose - would be slightly embarrassing sneezing through my vows. Even with an antihistamine I don't know how long I'd last! :o

I've got artificial ones for 2 bridesmaids, myself and MOH are having fresh flowers... if I ever get round to sorting them out!

I think the silk flowers look fine in the bouquets I've got, and on the whole they're a lot better now than they used to be...

I'm also making a point of not decorating the church. It's the church I go to every Sunday, I don't want to fill it with flowers and make it look like something it's not just because that's what everyone thinks it should look like.... Plus, we're only going to be in there an hour! Hopefully there should be some kind of harvest decorations up by the end of September anyway....

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

I'm wondering about the church too. It is a nice church anyway (Methodist with balcony etc).

Did you order your flowers from someone? I know this is cheap but wondered about having a go myself with hobbycraft or dunhelm flowers?? Not sure if the effect will be quite the same I suppose at least with silk flowers I could do them now!!:money: Maybe that's too moneysaving!!:o Only want something simple, although slight problem with the colours as bridesmaids are wearing chocolate brown (oops sorry mentioned it again!!) :rotfl:

  • Hi,

I thought everything was under control but I sat down yesterday to write down everything we needed to buy/have bought and the budget is alot more than we thought it was going to be.:cry::cry:

We thought we were keeping costs down but now I am thoroughly depressed. With everything I've estimated it is going to cost nearly £9,000! I really didn't want to spend so much when we are still paying off the remains of an extension on the house. We have been together for over 14 years and didn't want to put it off any longer, but I'm not impressed and don't see any way of getting the costs down.

My budget still gives me nightmares.

Have you thought about posting it and seeing if anyone here has any ideas to reduce it?

If you split it between things already bought and things left to get then it might not look so bad as the money you have spent has already gone so to speak.
