    Hi kitchpoo
cavweb may be worth a try too - large number of vauxhall groups out there.
I Googled cavweb but I think is just an alternative URL for
    http://www.vauxhallownersnetwork.co.uk
    http://www.cavweb-forums.co.uk
I had started a thread on that got some decent info so far, now need to seperate the wheat from the chaff so to speak

Need to get rid of my Vauxhall Cavalier J reg 1991.
    No Tax No MOT

    I have a Vauxhall Astra reg '52 - Mark 4.
Is there anything I can salvage from the Cavalier for use on the Astra the things that came to mind are the battery and the tyres, not sure whether the tyres are interchangeable on the Astra though.

A guy with a recovery truck has had his eye on it for some time.
Whenever he would drive past he would knock to check whether I wanted to scrap it, on the side of his truck he had written "Banger races":rotfl:
When I spoke to him he offered my £10.

    eBay-Sold as scrap?
scrap yard-Legality of driving it there?

    All ideas appreciated

Break it and flog the parts on e-Bay ~ you'll be suprised what you will get for them!

Failing that, I'll take it off your hands for you! :D

I've got a cav, OH has got one and so has my Dad. Not that we're cav nuts or anything ;)

You could post on VXON, explain about the car and see if anyone wants it for X amount. Don't ask what it's worth though, you need to specify a price, so say £200 for example, then other posters can offer a less amount which is upto you if you want to take it or not.

P.S. Kitch, cavweb is VXON now (vauxhallownersnetwork) :)

    Thanks shellsuit watch this space.
I've also got another Cavalier waiting in the wings

That is a K Reg 92 Cavalier L, Automatic, takes a lot fuel though, very very juicy as they say.
The MOT expires on that end July so that'll also be going the same way as wherever the J Reg goes.

I'll have the selector switch iff the top of the gearbox!

Can one good Cav be made from two duff ones?

stick it on ebay, you will get at least £80 on there, and the buyer will collect it so you dont need to drive it anywhere.

I'll make a note and depending on what happens to it I'll let you know through this forum, assuming its relatively easy to dismantle shouldn't be a problem.

Should only be three bolts and a wiring loom to disconnect.

You could always freecycle it ! Hopefully it could go to a good home and have a few more years use!
