Hi. I'd like to join in on this thread. We're moving house on Monday, so my big job over the next few days is finishing up the packing! And then unpacking when we get there! But I'm determined to start at the new house as I mean to go on, and keep on top of things! I had a horrible time keeping up with the household stuff when I was working fulltime, but I've now got the opportunity to be a SAHM, so I really feel I should be able to keep up with things better.
Done so far:
DS (1yr) fed, dressed
Completed Toluna surveys
Checked quidco, online banking, emails
Finished laundry for the day
To do:
Lunch/supper
Sort paperwork, file
Keep working on "update address" list
Clean up kitchen, including floor
Pack a few more boxes
Load digital pics of packed items onto computer to save
Dust living room
I will be so happy to get moved and be able to start working on the new house! Although that means, in addition to regular household tasks, we'll have scraping wallpaper, painting, and general repairs to do! Good thing DH has 2 weeks off work immediately following the move!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
:hello:Hi jamiedodger - I remember you from DFW as well! Hugs for your loss.
I'm sniffing and sneezing here too, but blaming the brokenm night. We had a massive, loud and very bright storm, and I went in to snuggle DD who hates thunder and lightning. I feel absolutely shattered this morning.
Happily, DS2 had a restful night, and is not in pain this morning. He's off to the cinema (new Indiana Jones) and sleeping over with a friend, so I phoned friend's mum last night just to make sure she was okay with supervising antibiotics and ibuprofen - no problem, and he'll have a lovely time I'm sure. Kaz - how did your trip to the dentist go?
I've no idea what to do today - I'd quite like to go to the allotment, but it may be too wet from all the rain. Maybe if it clears up a bit this afternoon. Alternatively, I could go round the list of bathroom suppliers and get some quotes for the cloakroom - don't feel too inspired by this, but it desperately needs doing. Obviously, only after I've done the main bedroom - sorry, but I'm sticking to the same old room pattern , as it suits me.
Thank you for more birthday wishes!!
pigpen - hope you feel better today.
scared - we always get ants in the kitchen, at least once a year. I 'mop' them up with a sponge, and wash them down the sink. The, try to track where exactly they are coming in. It's usually either around the outlet pipe for the washing machine, or a gap in the window frame. I then dust with ant powder around outside. I do try to keep the worktops and windowsill pretty clear of stuff, so it's easier to spot the first few invaders and stop them straight away. I don't think there is any stuff you can safely use indoors, and I'd be rather doubtful of using any insecticide in a food preparation area.It is never too late to become what you were always intended to be0 -
