Sorry to hear about your wife.
Im 30, I have had credit accounts for 10 years or so.
My default is 3 years (I think) old, however before that I had 3 defaults, all dropped off now.
I feel like everyone else has credit card and they have a CCJ or two and I cant get a high APR card, I can get a currrent account no problem or any other credit but when I ask for a small O/D I am refused even though I fund my account often and have banked with them for 2 years or more.
I am hoping like a few people have said that it is because of the electoral register and the default, I will have to wait and see

What annoys me is that when I opened my current account I was promised a match on my O/D which was £700.00, they closed my other account for me and didnt match it, then when I asked for a £50 O/D was told simply, sorry, no, you have to fund your account for 6 months and well look at this for you.
But 6 months after they still say try again in 3 months
I only want a £50 O/D to work up from there

Sadly no, but it was in there T&C but when I took them up with them, I found that the person on the phone got very ratty and just said, "its the way it is"
I left it at that point, but when I have requested a O/D online with the bank I have noticed not once have they done a credit check on me, which therefore must prove they are using a internal system, but why I am not passing is anyones guess.
