Thought you guys might be interested in this thread - someone is suggesting you hide all the answers. I don't think they've discussed it here first.

We've had this discussion before, someone brought it up ages ago and basically was told to go and do comps elsewhere! ;) Its all about being a 'community' and helping each other and one way is to share answers. If people don't like it they can always use loquax!!! :rotfl:

    NOW IN COMPING SEMI-RETIREMENT! :D

Thanks littleholly, I vaguely recall that. I just thought it a bit rude that someone is suggesting it in the site rules forum and asking if all the posters can be "made" to hide their answers. It just seems that some people aren't grateful for all the work other people do already, its not like they post many comps AFAIK.

Why are folks insisting on asking/moaning etc about comps outside the comps threads?? This latest issue was discussed here - 8mths ago, if anyone wants a recap!

The comps forum is really quite unique - within MSE and within any comping site i've used previously (hence why i use this one so often!!) Very few outside this part of MSE would understand how it works unless they have read the comping guide.

Obviously they don't get the 'answers' they want here so are having to go over the general users heads to try to achieve their goal.

  • Question for the BG's please, I posted the answers to Pick Me Up Issue 34 on Wednesday but having gone through my past posts after I've seen the post with the same answers on by Yonela it's gone (again) :( I appriecate Yonela posting the answers again as obviously the search won't find a comp that's vanished but would like to know what's happened if possible? Thanks x

Oh carp - that probably means we've all duped our answers!!! I searched too as I thought I had done them! But didn't find them listed (as you say they've vanished!)

Although usually my comp remembers answers I've put in and they pop up as I'm typing so I know if I've already done them so I stop iykwim! I'm waffling now - I've really gotta go to bed!

  • I have a new theory why August wins are down so much....i'm scraping the bottom of the barrel here!

Most companies staff are taking holidays at the moment, and the company is more interested in keeping the day to day running going while short staffed. Therefore comp wins are being put to the back of the queue and will be sent out when they are back to full staff.

There I can go to sleep safe in the knowledge that my August wins are all in offices somewhere waiting to be sent to me.

I think i'm getting prize withdrawal madness....
    2008 wins: £1713.20
    2009 wins:

    This will be mine in 2009 challenge: Cash/vouchers - [strike]Games console[/strike] - Hamper
