I wouldn't be upset if they dissappeared... As others have said (and I think I've mentioned previously), I do have a look most days to see if there is anything I fancy that I've missed, but if they are not there then I wouldn't feel hard done by or anything. I do my best to keep up to date anyway and if I miss a comp because I don't see it then I've still got a chance at winning one of the others I enter each day!

And yes, Mamma Mia is a fantastic film - I went with my sister and enjoyed it far more than I thought I was going to - so funny and excellent use of the music. :)

Here is my two penneth on the comps ending discussion from a (sort of) newbie

I have used on the comps ending list to do my comps until recently, just because I am rather lazy , but to be honest it's not essential. You can still enter as they are posted and the board has got by without them before. I say get rid of the comps ending list.
Primarily, this is a money saving forum and the competition board is just a small part of that.

From personal experience, I have found this is the most friendly forum I have ever been a part of (And I have been part of quite a few!).

PS. I do feel guilty about not posting many comps myself - but you other guys are just too quick and have posted them all already!

You are right with your PS mollythewestie... I think I've managed to post about 3 comps in 18 months as all the ones I find/get sent by email are already on here (I'm very thankful to those who spend lots of time posting comps each day)! :):)

I am probably speaking out of turn here but if people are willing to voulenteer their time to post the comps ending threads then why not??
If people dont like the comp ending threads then dont use them its that simple
Everyone should be made aware of the rules i agree but there's nothing wrong with a little competitiveness as long as there's no nastiness with it
I am sorry if i sound grumpy but i have 3 weeks till im due to have my 3rd child and would greatly miss these lists as it's my escape from the kids OH watches them so i can "Do my comps" and i will have less time to escape to my wonderful hobby at the end of august when baby's born
I try to keep up but just dont manage it so i have come to rely on these lists i even done one myself and intend to help more often when i can now i know what im doing
A few people have mentioned other websites do similar lists but i love it here on mse and would prefer to stay here with its sense of community and friendliness

Well i think thats rant over sorry if i offend or upset anyone had a bad day and my feet look like shreks just not green lol

I really do hope we can sort this out and not have to lose something so enjoyable i love the buzz i get when i win something and without these lists im not sure i will find too much time to enter stuff

PS i only enter things that i want, need or can give to people but i do thank every single post posted wether i enter it or not because i really really appreciate the time and effort put into posting the comps:D

I have found some REALLY obscure websites with competitions on and thought to myself, that can't have been posted already - but they always are! :rotfl:

When all that hoo-ha went on a while ago about the comps ending threads, i was one of those people who really wanted it as i thought it was a good idea.

But, i own up, i totally regret backing it now.

And yes, i have done todays ending list but thats just cos i like doing things like that

Yes comping should be a bit of a fun BUT i cant stand the idea of people just coming in & using the ending lists then leaving again..

Im not saying everyone should be posting comps but whether its just having a laugh on the stickys or looking out for wrong end dates, duplicates etc, i feel ALL should contribute somehow.

So if its a vote to remove it, then yes, get rid!! Lets get it back to how it was cos it's def not the same anymore xx

Speaking as a squeaky clean newbie I am grateful of the comp ending list. It meant I could get a really good head start today... then of course you see more and more and......:D
However it's sad that it's causing hassle on the forum. Whatever is decided I'm sure it will be for the best of all. And for newbies to come there are always helpful, supportive people who are happy to share their findings (as I will if I ever find myself in a position to find a comp that you lot haven't found ...Mollythewestie is so right )

<P>Lack of comps ending lists wouldn't stop you from entering comps on here, you could still enter just as many, just use the thanks button so you know which you have entered. I probably spend less time on here now than when I used to just use the comps ending lists because it means when the huge end of month lists come along i have already done most of them.</P>

You are right it wouldn't stop me from entering comps it just means that i would need to spend more time going through them all to enter a fraction of what i normally would with the lists and i always use the thanks button wether i enter or not

I just dont see why people want to get rid of them and yes i have read back through the discussions
