sammy_kaye have you no willpower at all? eating the raw mix indeed
No Twink - none in the slightest when it comes to your hobnobs!
I have also been known to devour half a tray to myself in one sitting before too. so am not sure they would be a healthy option for OP..................Time to find me again0 -

This recipe for chewy nut bars always goes down a storm in my house. Hubby will often grab one for breakfast if he's running late for work. You can change the combinations of nut/fruit to suit personal taste. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0

Here you go fizzel: twink's hobnobs. They are delicious and I try to tell myself that they're healthy when I'm scoffing them.

Ooooh Twinks hob nobs are seriously yummy.
How about a fruit cake made with dried fruit, walnuts, flour, sugar, egg and cold black tea? No fat added, except to grease the tin.
Delia has a really easy and delish recipe. Better for a day or two's keeping as it's a bit too chewy at first, but it's very sustaining!!:wave:0 -
Black Saturn posted a recipe for a good while back for Weetabox Brownies. I have not tried them yet, but they went down a storm on the forums.
How to make Weetabix Brownies
Im not sure how they are normally made but my recipe comes from a lady who was doing the refreshments at a community centre jumble sale me and my sister went to one year. We had a cuppa and one of the brownies and they were really yummy so we asked were they got them from and the lady said shed made them and gave us the recipe. I wrote it on a scrappy bit of paper that i still have and use now.
In a bowl put
4 crushed weetabix
4oz caster sugar
4oz self raising flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
pkt chocolate drops (i use a 25p 100g tescos own milk chocolate chopped up)
mix this altogether
then take 4oz of melted marg and stir this into the mixture along with an egg
mix well and put in a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes at electric 180.
I put this mix into a square tin which measures 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. I suppose you could use anything a similar size it would just turn out a bit more or less deeper. I also line the tray with greaseproof paper to save any sticking. Once out the oven let it stand for about 5 minutes then turn out the tray and cut into squares.
Enjoy!!! if you get chance before everyone else takes themNo Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Sorry its taken me so long to reply, I've been out on the razz :rotfl:
Cultured buttermilk is the stuff you can get in the supermarket in the cream section in a carton. Its basically the quick way of making buttermilk by adding bacteria to milk instead of the more traditional buttermilk that is left over during the churning process.
Just had a quick look online at Tesco and it has
"St Ivel Cultured Buttermilk 284ml 55p From the Fresh Milk Brands shelf"
So you should be able to get it in the supermarket without too much trouble. Let us know how you get on with the muffins, I haven't made them in a while0 -
Fruit dipped in melted chocolate.
Chocolate crispies (melted chocolate with cornflakes/ricecrispies added, with chopped dried fruit, seeds, nuts in, put in bun cases to cool and harden.)
Scones - cheese ones for the kids
Muffins with fruit in
Definitely the hobnobs
Flapjacks
Fruit crumble
