To please your eldest, you can do Twinks Hobnobs with some cocoa instead of some of the flour. My children loved this but I prefer them normal. Although I made the recipe as a tray bake with half the sugar yesterday and we all though t that to perfect it it could have had chocolate coating!

When I passed the recipe onto my mate she made "millies cookies" sized hob nobs lol. At least if I do little ones I can eat and keep to points easily :)

No problem - I have had it saved for long enough on computer and not got round to making them yet. Will need to give them a try ad use up the weetabix that is lying.

Have you tried Carrot muffins? I use the Muffins Fast and Fantastic book by Susan Reimer. There are loads of delicious recipes in it - so far I have made - Gingerbread, Lemon, Carrot, Blueberry and Banana ones ( not all at the same time...) Someone else mentioned her earlier in the thread.

This makes 12 muffins. The dry ingredients are seived separately, then wet ones in a seperate bowl , ad the acrrots to that then mix togethr but dont over mix , just until the dry ones are mixed and no flour can be seen.

    10 oz plain flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1 teaspoon bicarb
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1 egg
2 - 3 fl oz water or milk
2 tablespoons honey ( I used maple syrup and no honey in house)
4 - 5 oz granulated sugar or light brown soft sugar
    12 oz grated carrots
    1 teaspoon vanilla essense
3 fl oz veg oil or 3 oz melted butter
    2 - 3 oz raisens chopped walnuts ( I dont add these)

    Preheat oven to 375 - 400, 190 - 200 gas mark 5
    Spoon into tins makes 12 - cook for 20 - 25 minutes.

    Allow to cool then ice

2 oz cream cheese ( Philly or such like)
    4 oz sifted icing sugar
    1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence.

    They are delicious!!

My kids didn't notice the carrots and loved them , then when the found out what was in them - were a bit funny.....
No Longer addicted to Boots! - Well not today anyway!! :blushing:

Black Saturn posted a recipe for a good while back for Weetabox Brownies. I have not tried them yet, but they went down a storm on the forums.

    How to make Weetabix Brownies

Im not sure how they are normally made but my recipe comes from a lady who was doing the refreshments at a community centre jumble sale me and my sister went to one year. We had a cuppa and one of the brownies and they were really yummy so we asked were they got them from and the lady said shed made them and gave us the recipe. I wrote it on a scrappy bit of paper that i still have and use now.
    In a bowl put
    4 crushed weetabix
    4oz caster sugar
    4oz self raising flour
    2 tbsp cocoa powder
pkt chocolate drops (i use a 25p 100g tescos own milk chocolate chopped up)
    mix this altogether
then take 4oz of melted marg and stir this into the mixture along with an egg
mix well and put in a baking tray and bake for 15 minutes at electric 180.
I put this mix into a square tin which measures 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches. I suppose you could use anything a similar size it would just turn out a bit more or less deeper. I also line the tray with greaseproof paper to save any sticking. Once out the oven let it stand for about 5 minutes then turn out the tray and cut into squares.
Enjoy!!! if you get chance before everyone else takes them

I made these tonight (with addition of some chopped walnuts).
Yummy yummy! (I hate Weetabix, they make me heave)

those muffins sound lovely, amanda40- will try to get book from library.

This is a recipe I got off from the back of a weetabix packet years ago and always goes down well(even with my kids who hate banana and weetabix)

    6oz SR flour
    1/2 tsp cinnamon
    3oz marg
    3 crushed weetabix
    2 tbsp soft brown sugar
    2 small bananas
    1 egg
    2oz raisins
    2oz sultanas

rub together weetabix, flour, cinnamon and butter.Add sugar and dried fruit.Mash banana and mix with egg. Combine with other ingredients. Put heaps of mixture on greased tray(makes 8-10). bake for 20 mins at 200c gm6.While still hot brush with honey and sprinkle with honey.

great for using up ripe bananas that are lying in the fruit bowl, and pretty healthy.
