They wont give you your PIN over the phone or branch, you will need to request a new one.

I am very well aware of that and have done so. Twice already.

It takes 5 days so even assuming they did start the process yesterday I'm going to be locked out of my current account until at least the middle of next week. If it doesn't show up again I will have to make yet another call and wait another 5 days etc etc etc.

If I'd wanted a telephone banking account I'd have signed up for one.

    Hi

I have been having problems logging in also.

Will try again in about an hour and then call them if the site is still not working.

Mine is working fine - just tried it a few seconds ago and was straight in. Dunno if it makes any difference but I've totally ignored that "your log-in will be changing to an 8 digit one" message ever since it first appeared 6 months ago. I still log-in with my 12 digit one and 5 digit pin and always ignore the "remember my new 8 digit log-in" check box screen and just go straight to my account page.

Has been working fine for me today, using the new 8 digit PIN I've been using for sometime now.

Rob, be warned the message from A&L does state that in June your 12 digit number will no longer work for log ins and therefore you will not be able to obtain access to online banking should you not get hold of your 8 digit online banking customer number

Yeah thanks. They said that a few months back too but it still works fine. The only reason I still use the old one is cos I know it off the top of my head. I have of course noted the new one down for when I'll need it.

Yes, I know the feeling, I had just got the 12 digit memorised when they sent the new 8 one, but thought the sooner I start using the 8 digit number the sooner it will get lodged in my head!

If anyone gets anymore faults with A & L online banking I would advise them to call internet banking services as it is likely they will get you up and running quicker and remember sometimes the website will be down for servicing

My wife has been trying for over three weeks to gain control of her own money !
TWICE she has spoken to A&L banking services, and twice has been promised a new pin.
    what has happened- NOTHING.
    They are useless.

    Yes, of course.
If it was me I would have done so, but she is a little shy and by now completely demoralised !
It goes without saying, they will not speak to me, it's not my account.
