Regarding value foods, my philosiphy is, "Oh well, this Tesco value custard for 8p is only going to be horrible once". So try it. If it really is inedible then you have learnt that that wasn't the custard for you so try the next cheapest custard or a different one from a different shop if that's practical.

In my opinion the value custard is the nicest one i have tried! It tastes lovely and mixes really well too. I wouldn't dream of going back to Ambrosia!

another thing...warning - rant ahead! it's the attitudes toward debt, I've come clean with most folk and said I'm counting the pennies as I want to clear my debts in order to afford a bigger mortgage but a lot of people give me a lecture on how "everyone is in debt" and ask why I feel the need to pay it off. Guess when I move to MFW I had better keep it quiet...

i know what you mean about this. im expecting my second child in september and just found out its a girl so im looking at pretty pink things thinking next month i can have loads for her. my friends keep asking why ill only go shopping next month and when i say cos then im out of my overdraft and have so much more money then there reply is. yeah but you have it in the overdraft. why bother you cant take it with you so dont worry. the differance is im not worrying i just like the thought its payday on friday and im not in the overdraft. so now that £500 is mine not the banks and i wont feel guilty. plus i dont want to be leaving my kids with nothing but debt. id rather leave them the cash.

i hate snobbery to. we were in lidl yesterday for a few bits and someone in front had done a weeks shop there, the amount of people that tutted and shouted that she had done so much shopping was unreal. they all changed que complaining they werent waiting for someone that had done a weeks shop. i was laughing my head of. not only did i get served quicker but i said to my husband i wonder who has the least debt and most money.
also laughed when someone behind me picked up a leaflet that showed horse stuff they are selling and said "do they really thin people who shop in here can afford horses?" i laughed thinking thats exactly why they can afford a horse.
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

if your on weightwatchers value custard is the same points as low fat stuff and tastes just as good but without the pricetag. so not only cheaper but better for you.

I totally relate to this. We used to buy our own presents for people at work (I used to buy bottles of wine on offer for an average of about £2.50 each). Then it was decided whilst I was in hospital that everyone would give a £5!!! It's also not the kind of office where you can say "no" without laying yourself open the snideness. I would say that I too can't believe that that forgot your birthday but having been very ill in hospital and not got a get well card I can well believe it!!

I got this too after a bad accident and didn't recieve the usual flowers/card in hospital and I'm the one that normally gets pushed into going buying card/gift or whatever after one of the then managers took everyone's 'contribution' (no blind donations everyone forced to put in a fiver too). The managers reason for me not getting anything (even though they'd had the whip round)? He wouldn't be seen in anywhere that wasn't M&S or john lewis it was too much of a come down.
CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J

People who borrow money from their overdraft/CC/storecard/loan etc at 18%+, and then put it in a savings account/scheme/jar paying 0%-6% minus inflation...

    2) There is a woman who goes in my local social club on a Sunday and takes her son who is 6 and imo a spoilt brat! Her dad is the committee man for the social club. About once a month she gets her dad to play a song and gets her son to get on stage and dance or sing. Then when its over she gives him a glass and tells him to go round the club and collect money off people. If it was for charity or something I wouldnt be as peeved but it just lines their pockets. GrRrRrR

LMao fancy that exploiting your own kid, I could not do that, even if I was skint. Well no then again if it was the grandparents giving I wouldnt be too fussed lol

    .

Be very careful, I had 2 scans one at 20 weeks and one at 22 weeks and was told I was having a girl.I bought loads of pink girlie clothes and did the nursery in pink, then I had a boy.I sold a lot of the pink things on e-bay and you wouldnt beleive how many people said the same thing had happened to them.

I love this thread and am in so much agreement with it.

This afternoon I saw my neighbour driving into town with her top box on!
She's the one complaining about the price of fuel, and then doesn't make basic cost-cutting efforts to reduce her consumption. She'll only remember to take it off when she goes to the shopping centre & her car is too tall for the multistorey car park.
