I am looking for an opensource (ideally) programme which will do the same kind of thing as MS Publisher. Does anyone know of one?Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0

rach try option 16 on the right of the page that will come up from the following link. There are two open source DTP options there, but I have never used them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_open-source_software_packages
Serif give out freeware of their older versions at:
www.freeserifsoftware.com
The page seems unobtainable just now, but will probably return before long. Their programmes are very good - I have used them for years.
Hope this helps................Throstle0 -

Scribus isn't yet available for Windows, although it is being ported. You could always try it on a Linux live CD, or go the whole hog, make your computer dual-boot, and break your ties to Microsoft!Time is an illusion - lunch time doubly so.0

Found a great free vocab-learning program called Interlex:
http://www.vocab.co.uk/index.htm
Can set it for many languages, enter your own vocab lists, easily import lists the author supplies on the site, and be tested in e.g. either english or spanish, typing in the words, or multi-choice. Also, it's easy to type in accents, as all you do is right-click and this brings up a box where you can choose the accented letter you need. Really good program.
