    Welcome aboard :)

I might just have to spend some money myself today. It looks like there's a milk price war in the village :)

The newsagents come shop was selling milk at £1.29 but the co-op further to walk so that bit more difficult for me were selling at £1.17 and with my divvie this meant that I netted out at £1.13 with the four pence going to PMS since I never actualy see it.

I was feeling lazy the other day and bought my milk in the shop for just £1.05 !

So... I shall be price watching :)

I'm going to give it another go this month as I've been a bit slack lately. £80 for the month for one person, including all cleaning products etc. Should be do-able, fingers crossed..........

I paid more attention to offers in the shops this week, but something's really annoyed me!
I bought 2 boxes of Arial - just the normal stuff, E11 size - not much space for big boxes. Anyway, one of them said 'new & improved' which should have set the alarm bells ringing! The 'improvement' is to reduce the size of the box (& therefore the weight), but not the price, so I've paid about £2.44 for 950g instead of the old 1.1 kg - what a swindle!
Anyone else feel like they've been had in a similar way?

I've just saved myself a few pennies on next weeks online shopping, had 2 500ml store own washing up liquid on my list @ 64p each. Have ran out so got some from Aldi 75p for 1 litre. Have logged on and taken those 2 items off and will get all my washing up liquid from aldi from now on. Its only pennies, but every penny counts.

Got a quick question here - do you account for gas/electric/rates/clothes/gifts etc when budgeting or is it just for food shoppng

The basic idea is just groceries. Some people do include cleaning things, and sometimes more, into their budgets and that's fine. There are no hard and fast rules, do what suits you :)

But i already feel more in control.

Could anyone show me how to add my total spend v target in the signature space cos i can't figure out how to do it :(

Brown_suga you have just asked what I was thinking.
I've been comparing prices in quite a few shops and Iceland is the cheapest for milk @ £1 for 4 litres. I usually buy this in bulk and freeze.
Look after the pennies and the £££s will look after themselves

There's a very good guide by sra on how to do this. It's in the beginner's guide of the site's A to Z which is in the This Site Questions & Suggestions forum.
