When pregnant I don't necessarily think cutting back is an option
Have you browsed the Familes Board because I'm sure they'll be chock full of suggestions on how to cut down on spending without cutting down on the essentials of a good diet?Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. This is my first official try at the Grocery challenge, i started by keeping receipts last month and we spent about £270 for 2 adults and 2 teenage boys which was quite a lot less than it used to be before i tried my hand at OS.This month i have a target of £250 starting on 25th September.I've already spent £120 but this includes a months supply of baking ingredients and bread flour and my cupboards are now quite well stocked so i hope to cut down loads for the rest of the month until 25th October
I'm determined to suceed! :jDo what you love :happyhear0 -

Looking forward to this month and making some yummy casseroles and soups. Need to stock up the ole store cupboard as it's pretty bare at the moment. Im thinking of leaving my budget the same £60 per wk food and household stuff for now even though we will be down to 3 adults instead of 4.
Would like to use the extra dosh to stock up for christmas as well. My aim is to only have to pick up fresh foods and veg during christmas week, I'm so sad I've pencilled in a date to go in early morning - about 5am so I can shop in peace! Last yr I went in at 7am and it was chukka already!!!"There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children; one of these is roots, the other wings" - Hodding Carter

I've been lurking on Old Style for over a year but never posted. I'm going to do the grocery challenge this month - £250 for 2 adults and 3 children. I've recently started getting some 'basics' in Lidls & am impressed, so hopefully that will help the budget.0

Joining in again this month...£280 for the month for 3 adults, 4 children, a dog and a cat.
Did well last month but haven't added up the total yet
Did our first shop of the month and it came to £119. Had already done a meal plan for the week so probably won't use much of the storecupboard and freezer stuff that I've bought.0
