Horrible man at HSBC told me in a patronising way that he would not refund the charges-how annoying! I hate banks! That's done it now-i'm going to the bank charges thread and I'm reclaiming my charges-don't think I've had that many but it's about time I squeezed some money from these financial institutions!

  • I'm broke again this month-how depressing-it's only the 8th of the month and I don't get paid until the 21st. Well I guess i've got some money for shopping so that's ok if I do it in a creative manner(!) and I have a full tank of petrol so hopefully will get through this. Arrrgh! Positive thinking-will sign up to some more mystery shopping sites to try to up my income.

  • Shopping tonight again so will be merrily meal planning away this afternoon to try to make ends meet. Need to get some nibbles and wine also as I'm having a body shop party on Thursday-hopefully will get some freebie goodies for hosting it-really need some new makeup. Also keep putting off a phone call I need to make to a friend to tell her that I can't afford to go to the place that she booked for our Christmas meal and i'm suggesting a cheaper alternative. ARRRRGH-can't stand doing things like this as I find it excruciatiingly embarrassing to admit my brokeness. I must do it though as I can't keep on worrying about it.

I have done an Asda online today. Hoped to only spend £50 but it came to £70! Planning on spending £50 per week until Christmas as stocks are so low.

Phone your friend and get it out the way. If she is a good friend she will understand.

  • Well I phoned my friend and she was lovely about it and said it wasn't the venue but the company that she was interested in. Don't know why I worried so much!We are now going to a much more reasonable Morrocan restaurant with a belly dancer! I'm going to be able to do an impressive belly dance myself by then as i'll be 33 weeks pregnant! went to asda on Tuesday and spent 50 quid on a massive shop. By some fluke I got loads of bargains-loads of stuff for 20p and 30p so saved a fortune and stocked up my freezer. was impressed. Tonight i'm hosting a bodyshop party for my friend but people seem to be cancelling left right and centre so not sure how successful it'll be!

Well done for phoning your friend. You still get a night out and should have a great time. Hope the body shop party goes well for you and you get lots of nice samples.

  • Haven't posted for ages! My body shop party went really well and I got £70 of free stuff which was fab! People were buying lots of Christmas prezzies. My make up bag was really dwindling-I was just scraping bits out of containers but i will soon be the proud owner of an all in one foundation and powder base, a lightening touch under eye lightener, a lovely rosy blusher, a mascara, lip gloss and a nice body butter set for my auntie for Christmas. well chuffed! Hopefully my beautifully made up face will distract people from my rapidly ballooning body!! I feel like an elephant! Also found out that meal that we are now going on costs £25 which is much more justifiable. i wanted the night out but not the huge cost. i've got a very busy weekend that week-I've got my work's Christmas meal on the Thursday 4th which is paid for by the company, the Morrocan meal which will be £25 and a 70s night on the 6th which i've already paid for. My DS is moving bedroom this weekend into a big bed-he's moving out of his cot into the double bed that's in there-hope he'll be all right in that big bed on his own but can't afford to get rid of it! I got a bargain blue gingham double duvet and pillow cases in tescos for £4.90 so i just need to get him a new double divan sheet and some nice kiddy accessories from somewhere like dunhelm or asda so he has a lovely little boy's room on the cheap.

  • DS has settled into his big boy's bed with no problem at all. No running around or anything-he loves it especially now mummy and daddy can get into bed with him and read him his bedtime story! Last night I had a mad moment and completely forgot to put his nighttime nappy on! This morning bless him he was drenched through and i said to him 'Sorry darling for forgetting that' and he said 'It wasn't your fault mummy'-I thought that was really sweet! I did a mystery shop at the weekend for Maccie Ds so that should be a little bit of extra money for the fund and our eleccie bill left us in credit this quarter which was cool-trying to be very vigilant with this at the mo'-drying clothes in front of the fire instead of the tumble drier etc etc
