Do you give him a reward for 'doing' anything in the potty? I used to give mine 1 smartie.

    Thanks beckseven.

My daughter regressed if that's the right word at one point and started having accidents at night. Her dad suggested asking her if she'd like to wear a nappy at night. I thought it might undermine her but he was right. She was very relieved and agreed with alacrity!

It's all a matter of time and I'm sure children pick up if we're stressed and they get stressed then but show it in unexpected ways. And once they're using a potty or the loo you can't imagine what you stressed over before. One minute it's never going to happen and the next it's happened and you can't remember why it was such a big deal!

  • Thanks for the potty training tips Lucielle and Verbatim. Lucielle I've been using bribes of a sticker and a Jelly Tot! He's been doing really well this week-he's not in any sense 'potty trained' but the improvement in a week is amazing. He now is getting every other wee in the potty-I'm at work this morning and got a call on my mobile from a little voice telling me 'I did a poo poo in my potty mummy!' He meant a wee but couldn't have dreamt that he'd be doing so well on MOnday when i was starting to despair! I'm not in on Monday or Tuesday so have got some more time with him until he has to go to nursery. I was a bit worried that they wouldn't be able to devote as much time to him as me so want to get him quite far along the process before he goes in. Very money saving as well as we've only been using one nappy a day! Was annoyed on Thursday as I had vouchers to use in La Tasca in Northampton on Thursday and had booked the table etc only to get there and the restaurant was closed due to 'technical difficulties'-i.e they had actually gone bust. They have been removed from the La Tasca site now so have sent a complaining email as I wasn't contacted and made a 30 mile trip. Dh treated us to a meal in another restaurant which was lovely to get out but was dissappointed that we couldn't use our £30 tokens. going to check pigspoints now and check for shopping assignments. Haven't had much time this week as have been too busy potty training!

Thanks lucielle. I hope you are enjoying the weather as well despite having to work. I'm enjoying a few hours not waving the potty around whilst i'm at work. Had a text from DH who is at the local park with DS saying 'he will not come home and he has wet himself'. How I laughed! Wouldn't be laughing if it was me with him though! I've just had a call from a friend to ask me to have a body shop party so I've decided to take the plunge!

have meal planned for my shopping already this week and it should be coming in cheap. I have another couple of days off now to spend with DS-he is doing so well with the potty training now and yesterday didn't have any accidents at all. Going to the bank today to put £30 in to hopefully get through the month. Just got to get through this month and not to spend hardly anything.

Well the PT is going very well now thank goodness. It was lovely to do a shop and not have to buy any nappies or wipes-for a few months anyway! We went to our local playground this morning and had a great time-it's an adventure type playground with water features etc and it was lovely to spend some quality time with DS. We then went shopping and I spent £36 for the week which I was really really pleased with. had a bit of a shock yesterday-checked my bank account and my preschool payment cheque of £66 had been cashed-I only paid it last week and they normally take about 3 weeks to bank it but they must have been super efficient this month. I was over my overdraft limit so had to take from my savings to put me back again. I'm really worried that i'm going to get charged-in fact i know i will-do you think if I ring up and explain they will take the charges off? I will save on my childcare budget from next month so can put the money back in my savings next month. Nightmare! Flipping car-it's put me in a right pickle this month. Just about to prepare a stew for this evening-will freeze the rest of it after we've eaten tonight. I've been given more really nice maternity clothes from SIL including black trousers which i desperately needed and was going to buy this month. i think i'm going to look the smartest I have for ages whilst pregnant!

  • Hi Sammie. Thanks for reading my posts-I like keeping my diary as it keeps me on the straight and narrow and it's lovely to think that people read them! Congratulations on your pregancy-not long at all for you to go now. Is it your first? I'm trying to take care of myself but it is hard to take it easy when you've got one running around already! Must admit that I resorted to watching a recorded Bob the Builder yesterday about 4.30 just to give myself half an hour's breather! I'm working a couple of weekends in November and this means I'll get a couple of days off during the week-I pay for 3 and a half days nursery a week but normally if I have days off during the week i spend them with my DS but I'm thinking about having a day off to myself to put my feet up and read a book and oo swimming whilst he goes to nursery as I suddenly thought that I won't get the opportunity for a couple of years now! Back in work today for a sit down. Going to make Lucielle's sausage and apple pie tonight as it went down very well last time I made it. I watched Jamie Olivers ministry of food last night and thought that us money savers are always passing on recipes!
