HI Wendy,
I've been browsing through it this evening. Tomorow going to draft a meal plan and do a T-online order to be delivered Monday night.
I used to make a lot of muffins and flapjack when I was on a new graduate salary and there are ingredients in the cupboard so I think I might make a couple batches tomorrow.
I also got an easiyo a few months ago which I have been using mainly for savoury stuff instead of creme fraiche but I may have a go at making some fruit syrup (I think there's an ancient bag of cherries at the back of the freezer...) and see how that goes.26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

That's a food plan done and Tesco delivery booked for tomorrow afternoon.
£73  after getting a £10 off voucher but I suppose it does include 'big' monthly things like cereal, toilet paper and washing liquid as well as meat (as there are 2 of us we can usually freeze half of it). I've tried to use a brand down where its available so instead of jacobs crackers I got Tesco own etc.
Will have to wait and see if Hubbles notices any difference...
If at the end of the month I come in under £250 I'll know things are moving in the right direction, especially as that includes lunches which, at the moment are regularly coming out of my personal budget so I'll be saving on 2 fronts!:j26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Evening
Didn't want to read and run. WELL DONE ON THE NSD! Getting into the mind set is very hard as i think we are all prone to overspending or not even realising that we have just put £30 quids of shopping into the basket when we intended to just get bread and milk. I certainly have!
I remember when i was on benefits and had to stretch every penny. Now 6 years on, half decent part time job and 3 kids later I'm spending horrendous amounts each week and there isnt a reason for it. I stock pile food and probably have enough to last a few months. You've inspired me to hunt out a notepad and start my own spending diary! Thanks!!!!!
Good luck with the coming week.

Thanks Sugar.
Good luck to you too.

Hello
I notice you say you had an easiyo, you may know this already but if not.....
Keep a spoonful of your last yogurt made in the easiyo. Pour a carton of UHT milk and a spoonful of milk powder into the container. Shake it up. Add the spoonful of the last lot, shake it again and pop in the easiyo.
Much, much cheaper than the sachets. 1 litre of yogurt costs pennies. I have two containers so I have one in the fridge and one on the go.0 -
Hi Dumpy,
Thanks, I didn't know that. My Mum bought me what currently looks like a lifetime's supply of the sachets when she got me the starter kit but once I've worked through them I'll give it a go. Does it work the same for all varieties?
A quick update - my Tesco shop actually came to £64 once they'd added up the BOGOFs etc so feeling well chuffed.:j
Planning to make a batch of muffins (bran and craisin or pear and ginger or both?!) and maybe some cookies this afternoon. Going to try using yogurt in the mix as apparently the acid in the yogurt makes them extra light if you add bicarb of soda.26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Hi Lucifa
What is a easiyo! never heard of one of them. Just having five mins off from revising my taxation. LOL - why do people in these question a) have such complicated lives and b) so much money?:rotfl:
Just rewarding myself with a twister bar now and a bottle of wine for later. Its about the only way I am getting through this last week now.. Wine and chocolate.
Congrats on the no spend dayQuality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

I'm not sure about the flavoured varieites as there is probably some extra flavouring in the pack. I tend to make the greek yogurt variety, then add my own extras, so stir in some honey or fruit to get the variety I want. Basically using the easiyo as a natural yoghurt maker.
Easiyo, for the person that asked is a system of making yoghurt or yoghurt drinks. They try to get you to buy the sachets each time but they are dear and you can use cheaper ingrediants to make similar stuff. I like mine as it does keep everything at the correct temperture and I haven't disatster yet (waits for disaster to happen..........)0 -

Easiyo is a non-electric yogurt maker. Check out Lakeland stores if you like yogurt.
I know what you mean about complicated lives! Although we do have a couple of clients in our office that make some of the exam questions seem straight forward:eek:
Good luck with the studying. It is a total drag. I've done a couple of modules of CTA today but not as much as I was hoping. Motivation seems a bit low at the moment:o26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073
