That's a good idea tallyhoh! I might do that! Great to see another diary filled with honest thoughts. It is really hard to change your lifestyle isn't it? Good luck. You can do it!

Morning all.
Didn't get off to the best start this morning. Hubbles had left the house by the time I got up and there was not even a dribble of milk or a crumb of bread with which to make breakfast or lunch. Hmph:mad: .
Spend so far today
Commute 4.10
Breakfast 2.60
with lunch still to be found...
On the plus side I am now more determined than ever not to spend a penny this weekend other than on groceries. Three days intensive studying should help with that plan!!!
Thanks for the suggestion Tallyho - I do have a budget spreadsheet that I've been using for a while now to track how much month will be left at the end of the money. Some months I do great, others not so good ...26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Hmmph - still stropping over busting my budget. £5.76 for soup, half a sandwich and a packet of crisps.
A week ago I wouldn't have thought twice  today I think its a travesty! Is that progress then?
On the bright side I have a new idea for a soup recipe to try making at home. Carrot, cumin & yogurt - if I get it to work I'll post a recipe if anyone's interested.
I love to play in the kitchen so recipes might be a regular feature of this thread. - Hubbles will be delighted because when he asks me to reproduce any successes I usually can't remember what I put in:rotfl:26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

Hi Lucifa
Just nosing in to see how you were doing. Looks like the ball is rolling, seeing as the experts are now on your case! I'll butt out, but before I goI think its a travesty! Is that progress then?
Definitely, I reckon that's a big step forward. :cheesy:0 -
I forgot my lunch on Wednesday and was disgusted how expensive 'food on the run' is and I had fruit!
I think the spending diary will be a biggy

Hi
Just thought I would pop over to see how the land lies.....
I can't believe no one has told you to get rid of your Sky!!!!!!!!
Only joking.. I can't live without mine.
Seems to me that you haven't put any figures in for car tax, repairs etc. do you drive? Best thing to do is try to look at things over an annual period and account monthly for things that come up only so often, and make an effort to transfer that money over to an account automatically every month. I am trying to automate everything. It saves costly mistakes further down the line.
Sorry just read about hubby putting money away for car costs. Doh.
Spending diary seems to be the way to go then. Must get back to my studies, have procrastinated far too long.Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

Hubbles can't live without Sky sport. He grew up in Durban and loves to keep up with his home team.
It also includes the broadband and basic talk package.
We are going to get rid of all but 2 of the entertainment selections and bin Sky movies though so that will cut that down a bit26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073

A quiet day today. Hubbles went off to watch rugby with his brother. His team lost so he wasn't in the best mood when he gpt back this evening. I just had a chilled day reading and pfaffing on the 'puter.
On the plus side I haven't spent any money today - I did consider popping across the road to the supermarket for some baking ingredients and a bar of chocolate but was feeling too lazy even to do that.
Hubbles is now in the 'man-flu' stages of having being properly poorly and is k-o'd on the couch. Not sure what I'm going to do for the rest of the night but I suspect by the time I've decided it will be bed time!26.2.19/14.1.19: T MC 3629.26/3629.26 : VM 0% 1050/13876.59 : W 0% 100/1485 = 4409.26/18990.85 =25.17%28.1.19/28.1.19 Hubs 0% £400/£2,977 =13.44%SPC 2019 #073
