    Hey Lucifa!

Thought I'd come over from "the other side" and the pregnancy club to jabber on your diary.

Hope you're feeling better with the dizzy spells. Perhaps you're overheating a bit? Since Ive found out about our little bean (so called because we found at at the same age you did, and we read that it was currently the size of a coffee bean, and I work in tea/coffee industry so it seemed quite fitting!) I've been really hot.
Mostly on my upper body but my head and chest is constantly hot. I have to dab myself down with a wet flannel 3 of 4 times during the day, as I found I was getting a bit headachey and sweaty.... just a thought anyway. That or maybe you should try and drink more fluids?

Whats books did you get? We've got Pregnancy for Dummies which is quite amusing.

Hi CAFCgirl. Thanks for the visit!

I think you might be onto something with the overheating. I find a cool breeze or splashing with water does bring me back to myself. It just comes over me at such random moments - I can be sitting, standing still or walking around and it doesn't seem to be realted to how recently I've eaten so perhaps internal body temp is the problem. Midwife thought my BP may have dropped a bit, although it was okay 2 weeks ago:confused: . I've made a note to ask about it next time I'm in if its still happening.

I got 'You're expecting too' for Hubbles which is written just for the blokes and 'The pregnancy instruction manual' for general reading. Its quite light reading. I thought of getting something more in depth but to be honest the one the hospital gave me is quite graphic enough...

Yeah I've found some books were a bit much, and after the fun times of morning sickness etc and moving onto the birth, I started getting a bit freaked out by it all, sounds like scary a$$ stuff.

Might have a look into getting something for the Hubby though, he does read what I've got, but a lot of it doesnt make that much sense to him because he cant relate to descriptions of feelings etc....

Try and keep some cool water with you where possible. Or if you get a break stick your feet in the sink with cold running water, that was my life saver on the long haul flight back from NY. And not at all comfortable in one of BA's loos I might add!

In other news, having decided NOT getting the kitten was the sensible option I spent most of last night feeling utterly miserable. Then I read a couple posts on the daily chat and decided we will get the cat. There's 6 months for it to settle and fir us to get used to having it around before the Bean puts in an appearance.

Worst case scenario - we can't cope or the cat and baby don't 'gel' for whatever reason. We are both animal savvy enough to know the answer then is to re-house the cat. I'm not saying it would be an easy choice but we'll know if it needs to be made. But everything could work out wonderfully and we would have missed out so I'm prepared to take the chance. At least that way there are no 'what ifs'.

Cost wise there's the initial outlay for bed, litter tray and pet insurance and ongoing costs of litter, food and insurance. The kitten will be weaned to dry food only which works out at £2 a week for the top brand and will only drink water, not milk so that's much cheaper than if it needed wet food. The cat has been DNA tested for the hereditary kidney disease and is all clear so that's less of a worry. The cat is definitely a house cat only so the chance of worms and fleas is minimal and will only arise if we bring something into the flat.

We both love animals and this is a chance to get a pet where we know the breeder (she's family!) and the lineage and history of the kitten's predecessors. All at no cost beyond providing the essentials! Sounds good to me!

name suggestions welcome. So far I have a shortlist of Coco, Cleo, jasmine or Sascha... Coco is current favourite...

How time flies when youre - well doing not much really:rotfl:

Our kitten will be joining us on Saturday afternoon. Turns out he's a boy cat, not a girl cat so will be called Casper. Can't wait to bring him home. He'll keep me amused while MSE is offline this weekend:eek:

On the cash front, had £55 surplus prior to paycheck being pid into account so another okay month. Gone with the plan mentioned earlier and put £200 of anticipated surplus into HBoS account straight away. Let's see if that helps keep the excess spens down.

Also got all the food we need in to cover lunches and dinners. Already ahead of the game as lovely ex-boss bought me lunch today and Hubbles only wanted an omelette tonight to that's a pasta bake in the bag for a future meal:j :p .

Will check cc and O/D balances on Friday and update sig then but all in all should be a bit of progress...

Right, I've signed up for the September grocery challenge. Determined to bring it in under the £200. Have a good start in freezer from August's mismanaged splurging:p so I guess that's my silver lining!

Picked up cat stuff today - £18 (scratch post and litter tray) spent by me and Hubbles treated me and got the bed which was another £20. Even if Casper doesn't sleep in it we'll be able to round his toys into it at night:rolleyes: . need to get the insurance sorted. Getting it through quidco so £20 cash back there:T Really looking forward to bringing him home tomorrow:j

Just checked my piggy points balance. Had enough for another Boots voucher, a trolley token keyring and still 381 points left towards next voucher.

Hubbles renews his insurance in September and will be moving to esure which means another £75 cashback through quidco:T :j

Hubbles is under strict instructions not to consider a single purchase without asking me if I can get it through a cashback/points site AND he's paying attention which is great.

Looking good for September but will update as we move along.

    Hey Luc...

    Think you're doing superbly.

Congrats with new kitty tomorrow. Have you told OH he'll have to clean out litter. I read someone that pregnant women should avoid it as it carries listeria which is a no no for pregnant women...

Have you suffered much from morning sickness lately? Noticed you must be coming up fo 16 weeks + and Im just trying to figure out if most women do find it clears up about 14 weeks in etc as I'm starting to get really frustrated with me LOL

Well done on all the cashback as well
Dont know if its still available but if you shop online, quidco give £5 for registering and first delivery with tesco and generally there is a free delivery code floating about somewhere.
If you buy flea stuff etc for kitten, my mum does it via quidco and it works out cheaper than from vet and then she gets some money for it.

Good luck with grocery challenge too. I'm hoping to join up when my morning sickness clears up as I never know from one day to the nxt what Im going to be able to eat, so have found Ive spent quite a bit during the day for food at work etc....

    Take care xx

CAFCGirl right about that cant remeber why exactly but do not change litter tray unless you have to and be very careful.

    Welldone on training the Hubby!:rotfl:
