Hi all- commiserations to Lyndseyanne's DD - she did her best and should be proud.

Well, I have had a full afternoon with DGS after school and the whole family round later to collect him. All is calm now after quite a hectic day - I'm looking forward to a bit of peace and quiet tomorrow once I've done my food shopping and winced at the bill!

AUSSIE - thinking about your sister.

My 'pyramid' cake looks OK with the icing on it. What with the d**k cake earlier this week and the 'pyramid' cake today, I think I'll give baking a miss for the rest of the week!

Anyway, we have just had Aussie's delicious Savoury Impossible Pie and some Hasty Sponge with yoghurt and I'm stuffed full; just have to clear up the dinner things, have an early bath and, hopefully, settle down to a bit of knitting - I might watch that programme about the families with lots of children - Channel 4 at 9pm, I think, if I can stay awake!

See you all later - I hope to have time to read the thread properly tomorrow - I feel as if I've raced through it the last couple of days and I'm sure I have lots of people to send (((hugs))) to.

I'm sure it would ;) I just made fork biscuits with grated tangerine zest (instead of apricot and ginger, and used all flour instead of semolina  ). I bet lime would be really good, too.

    Penny. x

ooohhh they sound good thank you! :D I think I have some semolina in the cupboard too (at least I think it's semolina, I'm not quite sure it's been there so long - the curse of unmarked tupperware :rotfl: ).

    Hello everyone,

I've had a busy couple of days so not had chance to read the threads yet. Had college on tuesday, then babysat for OH's nieces last night, they were really good and it was nice to see them and their mum as it's been a couple of months since I last saw them. They only live a short drive/walk away, but sometimes life gets in the way.

I've also got a lot of college work to catch up on, so I'm going to try to spend less time on here in the next couple of weeks until I've done what I need to.

Hope you're all well, big hugs to anyone who isn't.

    Take care

    lynseyann,

so sorry to hear your DD didn't win anything, how devastating for her, they really do take it to heart when they are young don't they, I meant to say good luck to her earlier, but its been frantic at work, so please give her a big hug from me, and I am sure she did very well.

Thank you to you,i will do and to mioliere for the kind words too :A

She did take it to heart, but once daddy came home it didnt seem too bad.

She knows she did her best and that we are extremely proud of her.thank you againxxx

Well I've only just woken up - me and DH just couldn't keep awake - must be all the excitement of the last couple of days. Good news is that it's not that syndrome that the GP got all excited and thought it was but cellulitis. Bad news is that he's been given even more antibiotics, seen 2 consultants, got to go back next week and the biggest jar of E45 you've ever seen!! Mind you, he's off work for all next week as well now so I would call that a result :D Just ventured out in the garden in my dressing gown - how classy - to feed Mr Snuffles who appears and then doesn't like the noise level coming from next door (they're having some sort of party - and I use the term very loosely as it always appears to involve lots of drinking and grown men playing air guitar) and waddles back into the privet. "No, come back - I have slugs!!!" They really are most irritating (the neighbours not the slugs).... Pay day today :j so one of the girls at work is having half a day tomorrow to go shopping - no wonder she's in debt with her shoe fetish.... I have seen a job at one of the local unis that I am pondering - lots more money and can't be any more hassle than I have now. I shall think about it - plus I would have to attend the degree ceremonies so it would be a chance for me to wear my Masters gown more than just when I got the degree!! Bit of a heads up too - "Tonight" with Sir Trevor on Friday 30th will include an interview with the consultant I work for - she's worried about what she said as she can't remember what she said. Well, bit late for that now dearie!! :rotfl: When she told me she'd just spent the whole morning being interviewed I burst out laughing - she said "You're not helping" well that didn't stop me laughing!!! Apart from all that not much to report. Taping "The Invisibles" - how funny is that programme? - and have won two jigsaws on e-bay. For some reason I am obsessed with winter/christmas jigsaws. Bit of snow and I'm there like a WAG in search of a footballer :D Anyway, I'm off. Enjoy the rest of the evening everyone and hugs to all in need (although obviously not my neighbours who are in need of a good slap :rotfl: ). Oooh think Mr Rage is awake - I can hear football on the radio
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Evening all.

First up hugs and hi's in equal measure. Hope you're all ok - haven't had chance to read the thread yet.

I've just got back into knitting. Had forgotten how easy it is, although my friend reckons I'm not using the simplest stitch - apparently I'm doing reverse stocking stitch! Is this a good or bad thing?

DH has just put the kettle on and reckons its burnt out. Thats all we need.
    ho hum.

    anyway, back to the knitting.

Worked all day, then went to see Mum and Dad who were babysitting the grandkids:rolleyes:  , so I ended up giving them a break for a few hours as Dad is obviously exhausted.
The denial bit I said about my Dad this morning, was only relating to the worry that he isn't describing his symptoms to the doc, and there is a massive danger of paralysis if he doesnt admit certain symptoms and get treatment quickly :o:o:o Sorry if it sounded like I was being unsympathetic:(

Hi everyone. Went to drs this afternoon and he said my bloods were fine apart from my iron being a little low-but it should not be making me this exhausted and feeling cold. After a chat it was decided that i am suffering from stress. He gave me some iron tablets and said he wants to see me in 2 months...guess the stress is supposed to go away on its own then...
