A disgrace...Orange to charge for itemised billing

Thanks for the info nightshot.
Any chance of getting some insight as to why Orange have started to allow 07744 numbers to be included as xnet minutes again?
Please feel free to comment on this thread as it is offtopic here.
Cheers

the main reason you havent been charged in the past is down to lazy operators not applying the relevant charges in the first place
QUOTE]
Surely considering the OVP plans were set by Orangatang at corporate level as valid public price plans and not local ie...operators, then how can the big O say this is not a price increase of the subsequent tariff charges, this is not a case of retentions adjusting a account to a non publicised tariff where maybe staff gave the IB free as an incentive to retain your custom or indeed were too lazy, these price plan structures were implmented by the head honcho's at big O, this is a manatory price increase and is infact a breach of the T&C signed/agreed by the customer unless they were told/written they would be charged for IB from Orangatang at the point of entering into the contract and subsequently Orange failed too collect it (they legally could back charge you), 30 days is the legal time frame of any customer notifcation and that would have to be fully explained on your bill not just a line saying from "October 2005 you will be billed £1.00 for IB", the fact they are not claiming back the many months they could back-bill you says something along with the legal 30 day period ( implemented by law for your protection to allow you to make an decision about keeping any service on going ) you can cancel from the point of full and proper notification of change of T&C, or except them, after them 30 days you have deemed to except the new Terms if you have not cancelled, Orange are arguing a point round thier own terms and conditions & around the LAW, many big companies do notify staff of complete and utter misleading bull*hit hoping it holds enough water to sound legal to customers and staff ( whom hang up on irate customer repeating themselves, cos the company says they are right not the customer ) but if you read the law closer and not just Orange T&C it will all become alot more clearer
Legally, a unfair change of T&C that causes you to be at any loss usually gives you the right to cancel/sue within the first 30 days of that full and proper notification of change of T&C addressed to yourself via mail or in the "noughties" e-mail ( Orange may have to provide independant proof of the 30 day notification if they text or email you the changes in any way which they may be associated with ie... your Orange mobile number or Orange/Wanadoo email address in any court proceedings to prove you recieved them ie...an outside company contacting you on big O's behalf)If I helped or saved you money - Thank me
If I helped you spend some money - spank me
If I done both - :lipsrseal me:eek:

To the person who said he work for Orange, not suprise by your statement, cause it is a "KNOWN" fact esp on the telecom newsgroup that if you want to get the right answer from Orange rep you need to call the Orange teletubbies three times (I think it has now been increase to five since france telecom has brought them out) and take the average answer.
To answer the question about the fee for itemise billing I am afaird "YOU CAN CANCEL YOUR CONTRACT" If someone calls you and esp if they are from the telecom mobile newsgroup and you tell them you can't good luck to you. You will be rip to pieces and they will goto the Executive Office direct. Cause most on their know the direct line to them. Likewise with direct Debit, 0800 data calls before, Equity points, etc. If the change is standard which Itemise billing is, and the increase is above inflation which it is, you can cancel, Even if you just had an upgrade the day before (some reps try to tell you you have to give your handset back which is not true.) I myself not going to cancel my contract over it, cause they are everyday 50, and don't need Itemise billing. The only time I will cancel is when 0870 are not inclusive anymore.0 -
i Callled up orange and they agreed i could terminate my contract 6 months early but the b*********s said i would hav to pay £180 to get out of the contract!

now did i speak to another marshmallow or is this reallythe case- i just told him to cancel my itemised billingWoby_Tide wrote:The problem is though, it's not a mandatory charge, it's an optional service
(and a 100% increase on nothing, is er nothing!)
also the terms I originally quoted were th orange normal terms, now we've actually had more info that it concerns OVP plans only by the looks of it, they have different terms including
3.7 OVP Plans will replicate the charging structure & minimum call charges of the Competitor's tariff including, but not limited to, service charges for itemised billing, non-direct debit payment, access charges for short message service, charges for calls to Customer Service and charges for calls made to freephone numbers (including, but not limited to, those prefixed 050 & 080).
8.3 We reserve the right to vary these terms & conditions at any time. Please call Orange Customer Services to confirm
So all a bit woolly, but reading it I guess they can say they've always had the right to charge for itemised billing(as that is what the original network does) but they haven't and now they intend to do so.
Will be interesting to see how it pans out0 -
but they said it was for people who had signed up to pay for it in the first place
orange customer service is still miles above Vodafones IMO
and if it saves a tree - yippee :j !!! Everyone on here has access to the internet, so can't you sign up and check online??!!

If the £1 charge is too much for you then dont get an itemised bill, to be reading this you must have internet access so go to the orange website and read your bill!
I can guarantee no-one will get there contract cancelled early because orange has not changed anything, the charge was always there, it just wasnt applied to a lot of accounts before now. do you not think the whole situation will have been looked at by the regulatory team and okeyed first?
Seriously, it will not be worth your time trying to phone up and cancel early, a lot of frontline operators i agreed are numpties but to request to cancel your going to end up speaking to someone who knows what their on about and your call will be for nothing.
im not just saying this because i work for the company, im saying it to save you guys the hassle of trying to get early cancellation. i would be the first to explain how to do it if it were possible!!!0 -
anyone else got a new bill with this change of terms on it, so far we have only one confirmed sighting of the charge, and that is on an OVP contract which is juts matching the original network terms
(and until we get 2 more people who work for Orange posting I'm not believing the employee...;))0 -
I received my bill today and there is no mention of itemised billing i am on their tarrif not OVP.
can someone please tell me how i put theses icons inside the message on here???Honesty is the best policy doesn't matter which web site
you are on!
if i had known then what i know now!
a bargain is only a bargain if you really need it!0
