A disgrace...Orange to charge for itemised billing

Hehe yeah I also cancelled my T Mobile contract after just 2 months. I found the thread discussing this from another site, it's what made me aware of MSE

Back to the topic, it is disappointing, although not totally surprising. They should at the very least offer free itemised billing via their website. No itemised billing means that they're much more likely to get away with billing errors, and it should be a legal requirement for free itemised billing in one form or another, as it is essentially a receipt for a service that you are paying for.
Errors are so common, and itemised billing has become essential these days due to things like text message advertising scams that you're charged to receive, and calling card services like Simply Fone when you just don't know when Orange decide to start charging for.
Let's hope that there is a loophole in the contract that lets us cancel contracts, but more importantly let this show Orange how disgusting this practise is.0 -
If you cancel your contract because of this, do you get to keep the phone or do you have to give it back?!?!
Thanks

You'll probably be able to keep it but don't get too excited, it's just a theory at the moment.0

How recent is the bill that says this, there's nothing on my 1st September bill so I wonder of it will be mentioned on my next bill?
Actually, my last bill had some nonsense on it about charging me for my 3g usage as my free trial had ended, which surprised me as my phone doesn't support 3G. I phoned them and they said it was on everyones bill and not to worry as it was a mistake...

No mention of the charges on my Sept online bill either, I'm due to get the paper version through the post any day now however.0

There was a highlighted text box on page 1 of my September bill saying that from 1 November there would be a charge of £1 per month for itemised bills and that I should call if I didn't want itemised bills in future.
I called them and was told that my account showed there was to be no charge for itemised bills. He also said that the itemised bills charge would only apply to OVP T Mobile plans (I'm on an OVP O2 plan). I got the CS agent to put a note detailing what he'd told me on my account.0 -

I wonder then if Orange have a computer glitch, if the itemised billing was a possible mistake, and my 3G charges a mistake as well...maybe someone pressed the wrong button somewhere. I'll wait to see what my October bill says.

joemardo1 wrote:I have just received my latest orange bill, and I am amazed and angered to see that orange are going to charge £1 per month for itemised billing as from november. In this day and age where its so obviously easy and technically possible to produce these bills is this just another attempt to fleece the customer??
So much for customer service.
so much for maintaining the good will of oranges customers who are already paying high tariffs.
Come on Oragne explain yourselves.
I hope that Martin might be able to take thsi up on our behalf

joe
