If you become a shelf stacker at a supermarket there is little variety than putting stuff on shelves. It is not interesting, it gives you no skills to get a better job. But if you are a manager you sort out pricing, staffing, locations and you learn new things all the time that help you progress.

He doesn't "need" textbooks, experience, advice from people who actually know anything!

In his head he is right about everything .

No matter how much people try to tell him he will stick his fingers in his ears and remain in the pit of misery and despair he has dug for himself!

    And he keeps diggng!!!!!!

Okay, I do know this and one thing alone, that if you have a basic job that it will never give you skills to progress to a better job.

Generally if you earn less than 25k you have no variety in your day to day work and it is just repeativeboring stuff. When you earn over 25 k you get variety in your tasks.

Running your own specialist cleaning business and taking in £50,000 a year, perhaps?

Shelf stackers talk to customers - developing that skill

They learn stock rotation and control

    Proper H&S procedures

    Team working

That's just off the top of my head

They have opportunities to move into other roles, and potentially management.

You really are so narrow minded, aren't you?

Have you trawled Leeds' bookshops for application forms yet?

I have just returned home from the local recycling plant where yesterday I thought I had lost my house key in the skip for cardboard. The very helpful man went through the skip with me to check, nothing there so he helped me go through the car even checking the spare tyre area and eventually the key was found.

Today I popped in with a cake for them for their tea break, now do you think this guy is on £25,000 a year, I very much doubt it but what I do know is he takes pride in and gets satisfaction from his job and I hope very much they all enjoy their bit of cake this afternoon.

I very much admire this man :T

Is this what this thread is all about?
You yourself are a shelf stacker of books.

Do you want everyone to feel sorry for you and tell you it'll all be okay and a good job will just fall into your lap?
