Maybe you could have little savings accounts for differnet things - like an internet version of jamjars? Didn't I read somewhere that there is an account that will allow you to do that, or am I making it up?

I know that I used to have my CB & CSA money go into a First Direct savings account, not my current, so they would be spent on the kids & wouldn't get swallowed by O/D.

    Hi Bunny
Not been around much for various reasons, but it's great to be on here again and catching up with everyone's progress. Looks like you are doing really well striking out on your own.

    Hi Suz!
    Hope you're ok???

Right, this is how I get into a mess, I got my info from Scottish Power for my DD-and the have said £66 per month, starting in approx 6-8 weeks...so I immediately though 'Woohoo, I have and extra £80 this month because no payment for that!'...then, in a moment of clarity remembered that I will have to pay a bill to British Gas when the switch over happens...what a dolt huh???

Bunny... have you applied for housing benefit? Your wages are slightly higher than mine and I get WTC/CTC etc too... but I also get HB and a small amount of CT benefit too.

    Hey Tigz,
I don't know about applying for HB-I just assumed that when I applied for WFTC and CTC that I would be applying for them at the same time?

Nope - you have to apply for them at your local council.

My wages are £645, CT/WTC is £710 (1 child) CH £75.20 (1 child) and I get £378 HB per month. My rent is £720 pcm. Worth asking.... x

floss2 - yeah you can do that with Egg savings and IF savings to the best of my knowledge. I have 12 savings accounts for various different things like car tax, Christmas presents etc.

Bun - HB is totally separate from the CTC/WTC people so you'll have to apply separately.
