Hello, can I join in for June? Ive lost 16 pounds so far and I've got about another 10 to go (I think, I not sure what weight is going to suit me!)

So I'm aiming for 5 pounds in June. Although this morning I had a cookie (homemade though!) and a cup of tea with two sugars so not really off to a good start lol :D

Hi everyone, well done to Nix, Toni & Recovering on their spectacular losses!! I weighed in on Monday, have lost another 2lbs sport-smiley-001.gif that brings me under the 10stone mark! I want to lose 8lbs by the end of June, that's doable, isn't it?

BTW, my magic pants are working a treat - had another date on Sunday - went for a drive and he bought me lunch, had a lovely time, it's looking promising! He's away on holiday for the next couple of weeks, so hopefully we will resume when he gets back! redface.gif

    Anyway, food today -

B: tea, boiled egg & a slice of buttered wholewheat toast
    L: leftover carrot soup; fruit
D: cod in parsley sauce, steamed veggies and a wee dollop of mash

Ran for an hour yesterday, my legs are pretty sore, think I'll just do some weights today.

Water - I'm not managing my 2 litres a day at all, but feel ok so not worrying about that - not like it has any calories in it anyway!

I haven't had time to read through all 13 pages yet (sorry :o ) but am I right in thinking that I need to set myself a target weight loss for June? If so, I'm thinking about setting a target of 10lb. Is that reasonable or a bit too ambitious? That's 2.5lb per week. I'd be sooooo happy if I actually achieved that but I think it's a bit of a pipe dream.

I've been really slack today - have been dipping into the work biscuit tin all morning - but I'm claiming it's my last day of freedom ;) I don't actually have any bathroom scales at home so I thought I'd buy some on the way home from work tonight and start my diet tomorrow, once I've gauged the size of the problem (!) and come up with a plan to get me through the first few days.

So far, I've got as far as planning my breakfasts for the rest of the week: porridge oats with skimmed milk and hot water & lemon juice to drink. I tend to get hungry around 11am so I need to think about a healthy snack instead of kidding myself that I'll last until lunchtime (this is where I always go wrong). Any ideas? Fruit doesn't always fill me up. I thought about hummus and crunchy veggies but perhaps hummus has too many calories? I also need to think about healthy, filling lunches that won't cost me a fortune. How fattening are HM vegetable soups? I thought that perhaps I could have some soup, a sandwich and fruit - when I've done diets in the past I've just had soup & fruit and then eaten biscuits mid afternoon so perhaps I ought to have more food at lunchtime? What sort of things should I be eating in the evening?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm a complete dunce when it comes to dieting and have failed so many times in the past that I'm really scared about trying again - I'm nervous about getting my hopes up and then failing yet again.

    Hi everyone,

Big congrats to Nix and Toni and anyone else I've missed!
Thanks for the chart Toni I still have one weigh in for MIM some hope that it will be the 2lbs I need though:rolleyes: although my boss did ask me today where my bo0bs had gone:think: not quite the compliment I'd hoped for!
JIJ will be 4lbs I think.
Walking like a mad woman at the moment.... the inches should be melting;)
Had lovely pub lunch yesterday including treacle sponge and ice cream but I allowed for it and didn't eat again after (no room) tonight I'm just going for a jacket spud with loads of salad and tuna.... then off to pub for a g&t or two:o
    Be good you all

Hi all, hope you had a fabulous weekend.

Yesterday wasn't as hard as I thought, our firends had put on a beautiful vegan buffet with lots of salads, pasta and rice and some veggie burgers with wholemeal buns so I had a lovely meal. I must confess I did eat some salted peanuts but they gave me such bad heartburn it was enough to put me off eating them for a long time.....If only cakes did that too :o

I would like to go for 6lb for the JIJ challenge after my slow weekend I don't want to aim too high and be disappointed :p

Today I have still got grumbly indigestion because of those damn peanuts so I feel a bit rough. Hopefully plenty of fresh fruit and veg and water will flush it all out.

    B: Muesli and skimmed milk
L: Large salad with black olives and falafel
D: Spicy bean burger on wholemeal bun with baked beans and a big salad.

    S: Apple and pear

Hye ladies, some wonderful losses and always nice to hear what you are all up to

I have nothing to add to the thread today apart from this - please, if you have 15 minutes of your day spare read the following article. Seriously, it's the only weight loss article you should ever have to read in your life. Sums up in one article virtually everything there is to know about how to lose weight in a healthy manner. I've spent the last couple of months investigating diet, nutrition and exercise as I am aiming for a life change (once the bikini days are out of the way). I want to be fit and healthy, not just thin. This article really sums up all the numerous pieces of advice I've read in one place. Lots of us are doing what it recommends anyway and it's reassuring to read that yes you are doing it right.

Have a great day, my june target will be again 4lbs as I have 4 weigh ins. Byeeee! xx

This might be a mad idea, but is there something similar to the Spending Diary but for food? I'd like to keep a track of what I'm eating each day but don't want to have to do complicated portion/calorie/fat/GI calcuations. I just want something simple where I can write down what I've eaten and then print out a report of the last day/week/month. If I could clone the Spending Diary website that would be perfect :D
