Book it through Propertypal for just £49+VAT. Only seem to do calls in Belfast on a Tuesday though if you go to online booking facility:beer:.0

Looking for one, but this is the first time I've sold a house! Don't really know average costs, etc, so any recommendations welcome.0

Whichever estate agent is handling the sale of your home should arrange this all for you as part of the process.
This might help you find one thoiugh if that's not the case.....

I had an EPC done last July and August by http://epcbelfast.co.uk/about_epc_belfast.html
They only cost £55 and I had no problems with them. The estate agent were recommending someone, but they were charging around £120.
At this price difference, I'd definitely just organise it yourself.

Yes, the estate agent had said they could do it, but had told us it would be better to get it done privately for price reasons. Thanks for both replies, very helpful!0

Hi I recently used a company called Energy Peformance NI and had no problems. They charged me £50 and I had the certificate within a couple of days. I also recently posted a similar question on this and a number of others pointed me in the direction of PropertyPal. Apparently they charge around £50 too but only carry out on a Tuesday.0

The programme was called On Your Behalf & I think it's repeated during the week sometime. Some of the suggestions were interesting - iirc, apparently an "old" boiler of about 10 years old is only about 60% efficient therefore 40% of your oil cost is wasted! Think the woman they interviewed worked out that a new boiler would pay back its cost in 2 years. Here's the link to the radio programme. Here's the link to the free check.
I expect the woman who quoted that the replacement boiler would pay back its cost in 2 years forgot to mention that there was a huge "cost" to the environment involved in manufacturing the replacement and dumping the old one!0 -
Any one used EmberEnergy for an EPC? They are the only cheap ones (£54) I can find that are accredited.Regards, Robin.2011 MFW # 34
