Making the Gambling Introductory Offers Forum Private?

Whats the point? Writing the bookies name differently aint going to stop the bookies etc knowing whats going on and is pointless as they will already be members.
Also having a secret forum is going to do is limit the number of newbies.
Thing is people find a good wee earner and instantly thinking of posting on the forum so they can look cool.
My advice is when you find a good wee earner keep it to yoursellf and batter it to the max with as many friends / family etc then post it on a forum if you feel the need to.0 -

I voted yes .. just because its becoming a self defeating exercise anyway now.
Post an offer and half of them are cancelled/ammended with hours/days anyway.
I'll admit I know a couple of stonking offers .. but they are small/meduim firms .. and posting them would just mean they would be cancelled almost immediately ala cyberslotz, yukon, etc etc .. so noone would benefit anyway.
I dont think thats selfish ... I gain or lose nothing .... just common sense to let the offers run for folk who do find them. Noone benefits when they get pulled.0 -
Anyway theres a couple of PRIVATE forums out there with loads of new info you dont see either on here or rpoints with some of the info being a bid shady to say the least but you wont get into these forums with someone with good rep inviting you and you wont find them on google either.
You could always set up your own private forum though. Not hard at all.0 -
We had this discussion couple days ago on Rpoints. I agree that the general MB info should not be hidden, this place is how me and most other people here came to MBing.
My suggestion was to create a separate "Bookie offers" forum under this GIOL forum and make the sub-forum only available for logged in members. Keep all the existing general MB info just as it is now, for everyone to find through Google. Only all offer threads would need to be posted in the offers forum.
Would be a fairly easy thing to do and after the transition period I think it would be very little extra work for the mods.
And this would not be done to keep MBing secret, all the bookies already know we're here. It's just that there's no reason to have "zedbet" on Google bring up the GIOL Zedbet thread on #4 spot. Few bookies want their name on Google to bring up warnings and scam accusations.0 -
Making these forums similar to rpoints but with the Stickies set to Public seems
to be the best compromise. It's just getting ridiculous now with each new bookie that comes up and this forum is in the top 3 of the search results. Not sustainable IMO as bookies get more savvyProfit from Matched Betting = £13,655

Its not going to make any difference hiding stuff on this forum as ALL the bookies know about mse and will be members.
The ONLY way to do it is to have a PROPER hidden forum that cant be seen by the bookies and cant be tracked back by people posting live links.0 -
People make it sound like the bookies haven't found us yet!
If they do monitor this site and it goes private, then they will sign up. How hard is it to log in and then do a site search like they would on google?
If you don't want bookies to see offers, tips, loopholes, don't post them. But it kind of defeats the ethos of this site.
I find it a shame that people want to protect their own interests without a thought for others. Each and every one of us stumbled upon this malarky yet some seem hell bent on preventing others from doing exactly the same thing.
It screams of hypocrisy.0 -

In what way? For every bookie who may reduce a bonus, there is one who increases it.0
