Making the Gambling Introductory Offers Forum Private?

Not the 1st time it has been brought up, but just wondering what people
think about making this section of the forum private. In light
of recent offers and in the past the bookies do not have
to search hard to find our comments and experiences about
them. Hence, some offers have been pulled or even some
people have had their bonus winnings cancelled which has
left them out of pocket, taking into acct their lay on BF.
I personally don't see the problem in making this section
set to private, so that it is not so easily searched for on i.e.
Google and other search engines. It is a small price to pay
to continue with our MB in the future as I think it will be
inevitable that a bookie will really hit us hard with withdrawing
of offers or cancelled bonus winnings.

I think it's a good idea. Only problem I can see is that people will find it harder to discover matched betting in the first place.0

Could always make the threads private, aside from the Newcomers/Intro thread to get around that. And of course DM's diary. Then 10 post minimum to view main threads, i.e. to prove they're serious about it all. But I think the board guides are against this0

It's a bad idea and it's not gonna happen. Not gonna say any more on the subject, said what i had to say in the cyberslotz threadGreatwood - A charity for retired racehorses and children with special needs0

yes make it private definitely. Also no leechers.0 -

I was going to say no as it makes the forum harder to find for people who do not know about matched betting.
But maybe if all the stickies at the top were kept open so people could read all about matched betting and how to do it, and see all the questions (and post if they want to) in the newbie thread it would work.0 -
perhaps you need to clarify private as in rpoints so anyone can join but it doesn't show up in searches
or private as in you need an invite to join0 -
Maybe add a "Just make the offers private" option to the poll?0

Keep it open to the public.
That's how I got into MB when I stumbled across it and it's helped me so much with my finances.
I'd like to think that there are other people out there that might stumble across it too and they might find it beneficial as well, like the way I've benefitted.0 -
I think the board guides are against this
Regardless of whether we are for or against it from memory Martin posted in the last one of these threads to say it wouldn't be happening, and its his forum so his rules.
If people dont want offers to get the MSE hammering then dont post them on MSE - its as simple as that in my view, although I think its a pretty selfish alternative.
I'll keep the thread here for now and move it to the site feedback board later when I've finished work. The early bird gets the worm but the second mouse gets the cheese :cool:0
