Thing is I'm buying the car from Ireland, where I live currently. Everything's expensive here!! But that's another story.. lol

It's €1000 to add air con to the Corsa 1.2 Club. €1000 is about £800 at current rates.

I wouldn't buy a car without Air Con but then I wouldn't pay £800 for the privilege. but then again I wouldn't buy a brand new car.:)

I think you need to do some haggling with the dealer cause that expensive for bog standard air con.

Do you having the leasing option open to you in Ireland?
If the rates are anything like they are over here in the UK, the lease deals you can get are equivalent to buying a Corsa on an almost 20% discount off list price and then getting 0% finance on the whole value of the car. Your talking £153 a month inc. VAT and tax for a 1.2 Club with Air Con. You'll never get the use of this car for that kind of average monthly depreciation cost over 36 months, never mind the advantage of not having you cash tied up in the car.

Wouldn't be without it. Nice in summer to be cool, but in winter it comes into it's own as it prevents windows steaming up.

When my wife bought her Aygo one thing she definately wanted was aircon.

most cars are also fitted with a heater and a fan,why not just use this to keep the windows clear in the winter? if you use the heater correctly with the air recirculation off then the windows dont mist up,why put the air con on? ive had cars with and without air con and do not see the difference in the winter.

The aircon is much better for clearing windows then a heater and fan expecially if its humid out, or been raining, the amount of times it has saved me having to open my side window to see out at a junction!

You're just jealous cos you not got a/c ;)

I'd not be without a/c now - and I prefer to have a Ford for my quickclear windscreen too - a boon all year round.

OP - we have so many people who buy a car without air con and then regret it - they then call us and ask how much to fit it. It would probably be double the cost of buying the package new.

Think it may be better to go for the Corsa with the more goodies in the package? Kinda think that is what you want :D Treat yourself

Thanks to everyone for your valuable thoughts and advice.

We're going to go for air con! Whether we add it as an option to the Club, or change our order for a Club to a Design, we shall have to see! :)

Good for you - work out how much to add on the 'goodies' or buy car with goodies. A car with goodies will sell better.... but you're probably not thinking that far ahead at the moment!
