    Cifpower, I have never seen one as big as yours!!! Your Next credit limit, that is.! ;)! How long did it take you to reach that size?! What limit did they start you out on?! Next have started me on £300 and there’s an item I’ve got my eye on that I need a higher credit limit for.!

    I’ve only got one credit card.! HSBC ordinary mastercard, £2800 limit.! Is this enough for me to ‘build’ credit with or do I ideally need loads of credit cards in order to get a good credit rating?! I’m sitting here eating a box of After Eights. !Not very good with self-discipline today!

    It took me about 2 years to get that limit with Next. I started out with a £150 limit.

    When I applied in 2007 I was turned down but I appealed. I was asked to send in 3 months bank statements and I was approved with a £500 limit. Good thing is that they always give you an instant decision.

    My default was registered in December 07 and only shows on my Equifax file. The thing hurting me now is the number of searches on both my files.

    Re searches I've now got 13 or 14 on equifax and experian. Is that really bad?
