The Government would never let a bank go to the wall. Barclays will be fine.

I would be more worried about RBS Group, shares which were worth 600p per share back in early 2007 are now worth .... wait for it...... 12p :eek: . Amazing how much they have lost in write downs and other bad debt, losing 48 Billion pounds:eek: :eek: :eek:.

The govt already owns nearly 70% of RBS so I would not be surprised if it is totally nationalised in a few days times.

Totally agree Cif, they are going to be nationalised at some point in the near future. I was listening to Robert Peston on the 6 o'clock news, and he had come to the same conclusion.

Nobody could have been as bad as this lot. £12bn on the VAT cut which hasn't worked? He could have cut income tax for everyone.
