 Blimey Cif, late night lol

I wish Next would increase my limit. Still on £600 from when I opened an account back in the summer. I wouldn't mind, but I've bought loads of stuff from there - including a dining table and chairs.

When I asked they said that I couldn't request - that it was automatic.

Well done on yours tho

I'll never use it but its nice to feel loved :D What makes it odd is that before Xmas I received a letter from them saying that due to info from Equifax they would be removing my credit facility. Its all odd.

According to Experian I have had the account 27 months and its only recently they have seriously bumped up my limit. It was stuck at £750 for around 9 months.

I would prefer a CC with this limit though

    Hey Guys,

RE Lloyds TSB. We have our joint account with them and my score is taking ages to improve. I am current a Risk Level 3 and OH is a 1. Mind you I used to be a 6 or a 7 at some point tho

We only use it for household bills - prob clears about £1400 a month and we never go overdrawn - but they just don't want to speed my rating up lol.

Anyways, welcome to the new guys - we love fresh bait :D Well Louise does anyway lol

I'm interested in this as I switched from Natwest to Lloyds around 4-5 months ago.

I have no default's or CCJ's on my credit files, no late payments either for that mater. I have around 16 active credit accounts and 4 settled ones.

I was given a proper current account but no overdraft and have since applied with them online and was turned down for an overdraft & credit card too.... Can I ask how you managed to find out what your internal credit score was with Lloyds??

LOTS of my current credit accounts have been opened in the last 6 months though.... in fact, probably 10 of them.
I have a total of about £9000 available credit but am only using about £4800 in total which I thought would have looked good, not bad.

I earn £32k and it's paid into my Lloyds account however I just moved from wekly to monthly pay back in November so only 2 monthly wages have been paid in and if I'm being honest it's all been paid out pretty quickly this last 2 months too due to xmas then moving to a new flat, I suppose that does not look too good.

Just think that considering I've no defaults, no CCJ's, no late payments and plenty of credit accounts that are being run in a responsible way that Lloyds would be willing to give me a small overdraft just so I have it there incase of anything unexpected.... apparently they are not interested though.

Cash Flow, are you an ex employee? can you shed any light?

looks like i'm finally getting somewhere with my credit rating. after being unable to get a credit card for 5 years i got a vanquis card 2 months ago and this morning i had a agreement from cap1 in the post to sign and send back :)

I had a cap1 account when i was younger but defaulted on it and didnt pay it back, but they've still given me a new one! i applied for the card 2 months ago and they said no, applied the other day again i they just sent this letter through the post!

I've also gained a few jacamo/jd williams accounts in the last few months.

What route should i take from here? any accounts in particular?

what i really need is to find a loan company who will charge me less than the 54% apr welcome finance are charging me, it would save me a fortune over the life of the loan!

    Hello folks!

Hope you are well and perhaps can answer my question!?

I've had a Barclay card initial for 3 months now - used it and paid it off every month. My limit started at £260 and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with barclays? how long does it take them to up their limit?

I've got a next account, orange mobile, simply be and marisota all being paid off each month, as well as the cc so hopefully theres some nice green ticks on my credit file!

    Hello,

I think you have partly answered the question yourself, If you have opened lots of current accounts in the last six months, you will have had multiple searches logged against your name with the credit reference agencies.

This could of had implacations on you application for a current account with lloyds, I.e your credit profile was high enough for a current account, check book etc etc, but not a overdraft.

Also from the banks point of view whats stopping you opening overdrafts with all the othe banks you have accounts with.

All these little facts add up and determine what level of risk the bank believes you pose to them..... ie in order to grant a current account with OD @500.00 Mr xxxx needs A credit profile of 850/1000 if you score 725/100 It's a no for now but could be possible in six months time.

Please also remember that although the records of some current accounts are logged with the reference agencies, I am not aware that they inform potential lenders of your balance if you are in credit.

To my knowledge they only show negative balances i.e how much you are overdrawn

The best thing you can do is manage your income vs expenditure the best you can, once they can see that you have a lot of spare cash flow they will invite you to the overdraft fancy dress party:rotfl:
