yeah sutton thats what i thought but the bank even said if they think you owe money they can reinstate it!!! totally against the dd guarantee i know!!
im with royal bank of scot, but i will actually close the account if i have to to stop this happening again, but i would have thought if its been so long and the actual dd cant be een on the system they cant possibly do anything, but may be wishful thinking!!

I deleted the message before by mistake.
Totally wrong isn't it. Natwest which the RBS owns, said they just recall the payment. Just companies trying to make a quick buck. AOL did this to me years ago but i told them to eff off.

will be telling tiscali to do something just like that!!!!, thats what rbs said they will recall it and refund any charges it might incur if i manage to tranfer the funds to other account. its no prob to cancel a its only the one we had before they eventually allowed us a current account,

got the card a week ago, got it in my purse, dont need it, just for credit, so was thinking of doing 1 weekly shop a month on it, and paying off in full? that the best way to work it?

got accepted for an additions shoppin account which i pay off in full too

dont wanna get in debt AGAIN :)

That is the best way to go with the Vanquis card IMHO. It was also my intention and one that I think I might just revert back to. Spending a little regulalry is a good way of building up your limit as well and always paying off in full.

  • Hi everyone. So I have bitten the bullet and made some application.s I tried virgin on the off chance first but not surprisingly they laughed in my face.
Have also applied for Vanquis but got the 10-14 days response, give us more time to tell you you hvae no chance. So will update if I ever hear back. Wish me luck.

Vanquis tried to call this morning. It was on my 1471. Do they ring you to decline you or could this be a good sign?
And what, if any, questions do they ask when they ring. I'm sitting by the phone waiting for them to call back . Hope they do soon!
Got Halifax Classic to reduce my interest rate by 5% woohoo - 10/06/08 Thanks MSE!
    Another 3% shaved off 10/12/08
    ANOTHER 4 % June 09:beer:
