    Hi Moneysavers,

    I recently applied for a Monument Visa card and receieved a letter today saying " Thank you for you recent application for a Monument Visa Card. Unfortunatly the Monument card is currently only offered by invitation only so unfortunatly you have not been successful at this stage" We will contact you in the future regarding any further offers.

    So be advised that applying for this card is a wasted search on your credit file.

    Please bear this in mind.......

    Let me know if any of you have receieved something similar

    i think it does have a cheque guarantee card as she said a welcome pack was on its way but she did say no record of overdraft. I got 9 defaults on credit file but no ccj's and two late payments. some defaults are only a few months old but a couple are 4 years old and satisfied.

    I am a Monument customer and think they are ok, no-frills credit card and good customer service, I think they are limiting the ammount of applicants now because they must recieve 1000's of applications every week, they open up the application screen once per 6 months. So if you were not successfull this time try again in six months.
