Hi everyone, I just applied for my very first credit card yesterday. It was referred but they called me up first thing this morning to let me know it's now been opened. It's an HSBC credit card with a credit limit of £3100. The APR is 16 point something. I'm not on the Electoral Register and the only things reporting on my credit file are one mobile phone and one current account. :)
Have you changed your screen name again were you just_ask?

Congrats Moneysaving. Wow, what a good first limit!!!!! I have £3.1k on my MBNA and Amex, it's such a random figure. I don't know why they don't just round it to £3k lol. Onwards and upwards \o/ lol

Hi Sammy. If you've got AMEX and MBNA it sounds like you're doing brilliantly!! I'm not that clued up on credit cards yet in terms of what a 'good' limit is and so on.

Also, if I use this card responsibly are HSBC likely to raise my limit over time? If I were to want a second card later along the line (after having this one open for a while) what sort of lenders might be interested in me? Obviously HSBC approved me because I'm their customer, but if I wanted a second card would I have to go sub-prime?

    So many questions, lol
