The reason they couldnt give me a card cause the underwriters are MBNA and i already have a new card with them so they are unable to offer a new card to me until i have ran the account and then when in 6 - 12 months i can run the account then they would concider a card.

Cruzier, I applied for A&L account online last Tuesday and got my welcome pack, account number and PIN yesterday. Today I got the Savings Account number and a confirmation of the switching service. Still waiting for card and chequebook though. Plus I still don't know if I was accepted for the CC. It's killing me not knowing lol

Hi Sammy_Girl, thank you so much for the information. I had honestly thought I had not got it as they really did take longer than some peeps had been saying.

Anyway rang them and they said the account has been accepted, except without an overdraft (not that I applied for one).

I can't wait to get rid of my basic cash account!!

OMG guys, todays just been a day of good news.

Just got off the phone to Halifax and they have reduced my Halifax Credit Card interest from 19.9% to 15.9% which will like save me £25 per month in interest :-D

Would never have thought about asking them about reducing my APR if I have not visited this forum.

Same day electronic payment to another person's account in the UK £30


Are they charging you to send a payment?? what about if I sent money from my co op acct to that bank account??

That would be for a CHAPS payment. If you send money via the standard BACS system it will be free.

Phoned flybe today and they told me card was on its way with a three grand limit, anyone know how long it took for monument card to come through?

Is the flybe a sub prime card? I wonder what my chances are. I was turned down for the vanquis one.

Finally, you need to have a clean credit history, ie, no arrears, defaults, County Court Judgments (CCJs), bankruptcies or Individual Voluntary Agreements (IVAs).

Hi twiglet333, do you mind if I ask what your credit history is like? Flybe and Monument credit card in the same sentence does not sound right lol.

well I dont have a bad credit history I guess, although I do have cap1, barclaycard, and nationwide etc and they have pretty full limits, however I havent ever missed a payment. I didnt think i would get accepted for flybe as I have been turned down for Mbna and Egg and all the other sort of national ones, so I went for monument and flybe and seemed to get them both.

Oh and I have got loads of searches on my file as I was naive and didnt realise they recorded every one!
