  • I've been with A&L for well over a year now. Great bank. However, I was initially declined for a Premier Direct Account, and was given their 'Current Account' instead (just bog standard) but came with a Visa Electron.

2 months later, I was given a 3-1 card, with OD, and an upgrade to Premier Direct Account.

Seems they are very sub-prime friendly.

  • Here's a quick word of hope for the regulars...

Having been declined by Aqua, Capital One, Vanquis and all the usual contenders for a sub prime card I carried on checking the forums for further inspiration.

Long story short, I received a shiny new Flybe Mastercard with a £3k limit this morning.

Needless to say I was shocked to be approved given that it isn't even a sub-prime card and nobody else would touch me. Just goes to prove how much of a lottery the whole business really is.

Not sure how others have got along applying with Flybe but it may be an avenue worth exploring.
  • well guys by the look of it am getting a OD as i got no mention within my email about it.

Also next mission when i return to UK 2mo is applying for a basic nationwide account, It gives you a masic link cash card wish gives you free withdrawals abroad.
