It's not the same deal as you though, It asked me to call them after applying and the woman explained that they cannot offer me the silver mastercard but they can offer a Visa with a £500 limit & 29% apr but I have to sign some forms and pay a £100 deposit. Apparently if I keep it up for 6 months then I'll be upgraded to a decent card and my £100 will be returned.

does anyone have a link to this card or more details as it could help a few people and could clear up some things as i have never heard of it

    mr p any ideas

Try it, give them a ring, I was kb for the Virgin card and rang up with a reference umber on my kb letter and the underwriter said when they have seen 6 months of my loan paid off they will give me a card, so I is gonna ring them in November this year so watch this space....

I take it the best number to get them on is 0800 068 8788?

Not sure, maybe it is only offered as a last option internally from the underwriter, it is not an advertised card.

Just wondered if anyone had experience with applying to Vanquis. I applied in January but was declined. Do they accept outstanding defaults? Did not want to waste an application if the answer is going to be no again.

Try MBNA for their sub prime card, if they decline you will be given a refferal link to Vanquis, apply using that, they may accept you, if the default is older than 12 month try Aqua.

Thanks I think I will give them a try. I already have an Aqua card since April but was declined for Capital One and Vanquis.
