Was in st helens last night, not a nice store in general.
Young CS guy on duty, told me my misprice was correct price, no no come with me, said I, went to bacon aisle, and sure enough dry cure bacon sel 2.06- pack 2.48,
He was genuinely apologetic and r+r'd all 6.
By the way, he left, 1 of the sel's up. So if you want some bacon!0 -
Also went in burscough for some beer, nice price on stella at the mo'
Didn't know whether to putthe following on mis-price thread or not, as it is a really old one
Burscough are still selling finest parmesan(you know the £13.08 ones)and guess what. The stock is not the £17.08 most recent stock, but the £17.49 stock from before that.
Must be a clearance store. lol
Very nice CS tho'0 -
tinnyboy_1,
yeah i hate st helens 2, that lad is not to bad on c/s but the bleach blonde is a nightmare. i was in around 9.30pm and the tall lad and girl were on then.
Wasn't botherd about the bacon but i did see it.
As for the books and cds there is not a lot of choice.0 -
I rang trading standards today about the Blackpool branch of Tesco as I was in there the other night and saw someone else being overcharged, the manager took an age to arrive so the customer had left by this point, the manager was happy he had left so he didn't have to do anything! He made no attempt to find out which item was overcharged so that the shelf label could be changed so further customers could be overcharged.
Trading standards said that there was nothing they could do unless they got complaints from people that had been overcharged, to which I pointed out that the "victims" of this probably won't realise they have been overcharged. I think the amount of misprices we have seen in the other thread show that there is a real problem at Tesco that needs to be addressed, if anyone else feels strongly about this then I would urge you to ring your local trading standards department:
http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/consumers/consumers.cfm (enter your postcode to get details of your local branch)
I know that it is nice to get free stuff from the misprices, but there must be a lot of people getting ripped off who don't realise and maybe now is the time to put that right0 -
Saint_Chris wrote:On another note i got the Italian cook book for free and it is rubbish, can i take it back and just exchange it, even thought i don't have the receipt, but i do have the £12.99 sticker on it?
Yes you can as i have taken things back with no receipt. I just say i bought it for a present but my aunt already has it. I always say that i just want to exchange it for an item in the same department (none food). Just peel the sticker off and say you think you paid £14 9? as they scan to see how much it costsThe best things in life are for FREE!!!If you like what you see and find this info useful, please use the thanks button. It costs nothing and means so much.0 -

why say that? if you have no receipt then you will only get the exchange on the price it comes up on on the till, so if you paid £12.99 for the book and the store has a price change and it now scans at £10.99 then you will only get an exchange for £10.99, thats just tough luck on the person, at the end of the day you have no receipt, so tesco are doing you a favour by letting you exchange it.0 -

are you trying to get a second refund on the cds or just an exchange for something else?
you need to read the t&c for taking back cd's, as i am not sure on this one.
i think it may have something to do with copying cds, read t&c (by the cds) and if you meet all conditions stand your ground.0 -
just an exchange would be great, they always say when and where did i buy it and theyll check on their back office computer .Will it come up that its been overcharged in the first place?0

i am not an expert but i doubt it, go for the exchange because i doubt you will get a refund.0
