The £20 discount is an additional incentive and all they have to refund you is the £20 discount that they omitted to give. IMO anyway
I don't know about anywhere else, but at Leyland, the promise says that they will refund and you can keep the item if they "overcharge" you - not charge more than the SEL or label. That is on a sign behind the electrical desk, where you pay for the phones, so I guess you'd be in the right asking for a refund at that particular desk? But maybe not at CS where the usual sign is displayed?

As for the employees telling Tesco to get a better system what planet you from - do you not work for someone else - have you any idea at all? m
Tell you what though i'll put you views forward that'll show em
The thanks was accidental - I meant to press the quote button.
What on earth are you talking about? If you can't read peoples views about Tesco's pricing policy without resorting to using the very personal lives of your colleagues (which I imagine they wouldnt want posted on the internet!) Then why read this board?
I dont see your point regarding your colleague.
Are you saying we shouldnt ever raise any consumer issues as there may be an employee 'just trying to make a living' involved somewhere?
I am sorry if my views have upset you, however I am not responsible for Tesco's lack of pricing integrity nor for their r&r policy nor for the fact that you work there!
I shall slowly back away from the board! :silenced:0 -

Thought this might interest you Tesco fiends
I interviewed a Tesco manager today as part of my job - after this we has a general chat about mis-prices.
The lady stated that it was a big problem for Tesco - she said that mis-prices are everywhere......but that the policy (R&R) was always adhered to at her store.
My local store I've had a few interesting experiences with CS....
Visit 1 (1 CD) - CS very nice & polite - no problems.
Visit 2 (1 CD & £30 worth of meat - all within a £100 plus weekly shop) - CS quite arsey - took a manager to authrorise the R&R - he was polite but not happy.
Visit 3 (1CD) - CS offered my a refund of the difference - put him striaght and no problems
Visit 4 (Cheese) - CS offered a refund of the difference - put him striaght - "!!!!!!, I hate it when customers notice the (R&R) policy" - he blushed furiously and did the business.
Visit 5 (2 CDs) - same CS as Visit 3 - he cheerfully explained the R&R policy and did the business.
So I guess it's who you get on the CS desk and how much you've spent.
My local Tesco (Cheltenham 1) has very few DVDs - anyone know of a Gloucestershire branch that has a bigger selection?
Hope this is of interest to the commuinty.
I would enocurage everyone who finds this it difficult to approach CS to stand firm, be polite and you will get sorted :T

Does the R&R policy apply to online shopping? Only I had a delivery on Tuesday with several mistakes which they refunded the difference on but nothing more?? Thanks,
Sue0 -
How do people obtain R&R in 24 hour stores that don't have a CS open after say 10PM.
For example I occassionally pop in to Tesco on the way back from the Gym and because they are actively stacking shelves at 11PM I am often overcharged when new produce is stacked on the shelf with a higher price than the SEL.
However with a very skeleton crew on the tills, long queues, no management or CS obviously present I imagine I would struggle to get any R&R. By the following day the SEL is likely to have changed and all evidence disappeared. For instance they were unable to offer a refund for a faulty product last week as CS was closed.

No Sue, I'm almost certain it doesnt apply to online shopping with Tesco.
They make mistakes 9 out of 10 times on my internet shops too, but only offer to refund the difference and at a push if there are lots of mistakes they will refund the delivery charge.0 -

Well, when I got mine at 12.30am on tuesday, I simply brought it to the attention of the checkout woman (after i'd paid obviously), who went off and checked the price and then gave me my R&R. She was of course, very nice and apologetic too.
Granted, there were no queues, but even if there were I would have stayed there, demanding she sort it out. It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.

in regard the £40 spend giving £20 off a mobile...working or not sometimes depending on your cashier doing it correctly.
my friend just bought a nokia 3320 , cashier scans through the goods total £44.45 then scans through phone.....phone charged at full price, girl then scans through the phone again ...charged at 0.01p ...this flags up as a multi purchase and applies a discount of £20.01 at bottom of reciept...
so findings are..... phone has to be scanned twice in order for discount to be applied....and its considered a multibuy. with a discount of £20.01.
so you could either put through the phone first with a load of other shopping and pack it away. and chances are it got scanned once. or.....
purchase two phones with a £40 spend ...
1st phone charged at full price second charged at 0.01p and you get £20.01 off your bill. so two phones for price of one and twenty pounds discounted..
dont know if it will work tho :-) so be careful out there0 -
If you buy 6 or more bottles of wine is it 5% or 10% off.0
