    Good on ya !
I came away with £19.90's worth today as well!
Is it worth putting it on the site now that Tesco have cracked onto us! :D
Think we'll all have to circulate the errors in PM's now!

I dont think Tesco's have cracked onto anything myself. They probably think it would cost them more to circulate an email with our findings, have staff check it and pass the info onto other staff, change the SEL's and stickers etc than it would to give out a few r&r's to the likes of us. We are incredibly small fries in their opinion.
I did consider whether or not to post findings for a while but I always will as I think it's fair to give everyone a chance to get in to their local Tesco's and give it a go.
IMO If Tesco's cant get their pricing right in the first place whilst making 9 million profit in a few months...then they wont be able to put a stop to the r&r's because of our postings.
If I'm wrong then you can say "I told you so" LOL. I do see your point though pm's would be a good idea if needed

    Redfox,
Are you 100% sure that is correct? The wife tells me that the advertised/displayed price, misleading as it is, is only an offer and only once the product has been scanned at the checkout and the new price given do you actually agree to the price enter into a contract to purchase the goods. Our refunds are only down to Tesco's policy and goodwill gesture. Unfortunately the OH isn't here at the moment otherwise she could confirm...

I shall don my flame suit and wait to be flamed

    Elliot

You're both right!! Redfox is talking about criminal law (which concerns trading standards and which might result in a criminal prosecution and conviction). Elliot's missus is correct re civil law which concerns the contract between Tesco and the customer. However, Tesco's policy (and advertising of it) mean that a new contract term is introduced which legally (in civil law) obliges them to refund and replace in accordance with the terms of the policy.

Hi Tony, Please please don't let a few remarks put you of posting. I for one always enjoy reading your comments. Perhaps some of the others are just playing devils advocate. Have been busy ripping wallpaper off [8 layers and counting] so have only just caught up with the thread, will say though that it has taken me nearly 1 hour to catch up, you lot out there have more rattle than a tin of marbles [just kidding] ;)

Got back to original paper tonight a real William Morris needed these  and a lot of elbow grease to remove it but with a lot of help from family :grouphug: nearly finished now. Oh says he could do with something a lot stronger than coffee

Mr T is paying for christmas in my house.
Just come back from my local Tesco's.
They have a offer on of £20 off a tesco mobile network phone as long as your shopping comes to more than £40. Phones must be purchased at the same time.
Went to Tesco with the intention of spending approx £300 major booze and food shop. I had kids with me who were pestering for new mobiles for christmas. I split my shopping into 6 lots of approx £50, paid seperatley and included 6 mobiles. 4 were the sony erricsons at £69.99 and 2 were top of the range at £169.99. The girl on the checkout got a bit stressed but she understood were I was comming from.
On the way back to the car my 12 year old who has desires to be an accountant informed me that i had been charged full price for the mobiles.
Needless to say off I trots to C/s who tried to offer me £120, i stood my ground, along came the manager who after the initial shock authorised my refund of nearly £600. As a gesture of good will I offered my clubcard for the deduction of the points and Was told that they did not deducted them. I also got 6 peterol vouchers for 5p off. Mr t was a good egg tonight.

BY the way there seemed to be a lot of confussion as to how the £20 discount should be applied.
    regards to all

OOh sounds lovely! I bet it's gonna look fab for Christmas ;)
  • After reading a large number (but not all) of the posts in this thread about the varying ways that people are dealt with who have been overcharged for goods by Tesco I would like to suggest that.

Everyone on MSE scours the shelves for mispriced goods, purchase one or two of everything they find they are likley to be overcharged for and nothing else at all.
If they have actually been overcharged claim the full ammount at customer services.

If a refund is refused for ANY reason lodge a complaint with trading standards for every offence committed.

A few people have saved a few pounds by exploiting Tesco refund policy but everyday thousands of people are being ripped off by one of the richest supermarkets in Britain and it's about time it was stopped.

THATS OUTRAGEOUS. I would contact HO and store and ask them to put it in writing outlining exactly how 'ONE SHOULD CONDUCT ONES SELF WHEN SHOPING IN TESCOS' perhaps we should follow Debrettes, say GOLLY GOSH, JOLLY HOCKYSTICKS and walk round with books on our heads like good gels. I regularly scan items especially expensive ones, as when I want to use coupons I really try not to be overcharged, given their pricing errors not always possible. Just for devilment may scan a PC next time I'm in a store but will have to get help to lift up the box to scanner from a member of staff, will say just making sure as I believe you had a problem with these a few weeks ago :A
