  • Hi i am confused when is this pc available from i have tried to search the aldi site but theres nothing on there, really want one of these, sounds amazing value! is it pc package (with monitor)?
    please help someone
    thanks :)

The PC will be available from 25/11/04 - no idea of price yet but if only £399 (as mentioned earlier) it's unlikely to be of the specs listed previously.

The current leaflet I have shows a teaser on the back - it's a base unit, TFT monitor, twin speakers, printer, scanner and keyboard and mouse but they're all wrapped in gold Christmas paper so you can't make out any details :-/

However the advert has the strap line: "Don't buy a PC package for Christmas until you've seen our latest fantastic offers" so it looks like all this lot will be available, possibly as a package but more likely as individual items.

Nope, don't think it would take compact flash, seem to remember it's a 256mb SD card.

If anyone is thinking about one though, definitely get there before opening time on Thursday morning!

As I said on my 1st post, really satisfied with the pc I got last year (I know somebody else who got one at the sametime who feels the same also).  I work in IT and quite happy to build pc's etc but felt the Aldi pc was a very good deal for the price.

Regarding the pc's, just been past an Aldi store in the car and it looks like there was an advert on a poster for them, sure it said £399!..bargain if that's true!  Will get more details when I can.

The PDA uses MMC.. it looks very good for the price..

  • How does the ALDI PDA SAT nav rate

    1) as a PDA
    2) The SAT NAV software

compared to others in the market??? ???

Just bought on from my local store in Llantrisant, near McDonalds. Sounds like they might have a few there.

I have to say its amazing value for money.
A quality product. I'm really chuffed.

Took it out of the box and got SAT NAV working in minutes. The interface is fine and we went for a drive after charging it a little.

    It was an impulse buy.
No quibbles in the store, asked if my girlfriend did not want the product, if I could bring it back.. No problems.
They said try it.. if you don't like it, bring it back for a refund.

The drive went fine.. Took us to each location perfectly.
The voice is clear and consise.

I guess you could install Tom Tom if you wanted?
Its a Pocket PC with all the usual stuff including Outlook 2002.

5 CD's in total. All the map software is included.
    Massive selection of accessories too.
3 years warranty, first year Aldi will honour.

    ;D

Anything else you want to know... I'll try and help.
  • i got this also. the thing that annoyed me was having to queue up with loads of people buying 48 tins of spam and the like. all i wanted was the pda sat nav.

one thing that is slightly annoying is the woman who speaks says bare left or what ever sometimes when i know i need to go straight on, i woulod have gone around in circles if i had follwed her direction the other day.

    must be blonde. ;)
