I was about to suggest using some bio washing powder, I use it all the time on my carpets for "organic" stains left by the dog or bubba, works wonders and gets rid of the smell.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0

An old lady who lived near us and used to be in service said they always damp a carpet stain, cover it in loads of salt, leave it overnight. The salt absorbs the moisture, stain and smell. Just hoover it up in the morning. It has always worked for me. I hope I'm not too late in giving this advice. By the way, most of these stain products are salt based! Good luck, having a bad day too, cooker packed up!0

Flamin ink SC.. sorry to hear this I would also be gutted.
Anyway... did anyone see how clean is your house last week? The lady had a stain on her bedroom carpet and they lifted it no problem with something simple... can not remember what it was... anyone?0 -
I used salt and talc on a glass of red wine that had gone onto my mid/dark blue carpet, it took a few applications until the stain was completely soaked up, but I definately can't see the wine stain now!

My stepson was sick on our brand new carpet a few years back and in our frantic efforts to remove we actually ended up crushing the pile due to too much rubbing . Although the stain is gone, it still bugs me to this day to see the fuzzy texture of the carpet in that area
So I would suggest you go easy on it and wait to see how it dries without keep rubbing at it - it is probably the wetness that is making it look worse.0 -
I know it's a weird question but for a while now I've been wondering what the odd dark grey spots were that keep appearing on my carpet.
Today (I am off work ill) I watched as my cat heaved on an empty stomach until she was 'sick' and brought up what I guess is a kind of bile. _pale_
We have tried using Vax carpet shampoo and it doesn;t get it off. Does anyone have any ideas?
My carpet is only two years old and is a pale straw colour and top quality wool so I want to keep it looking nice.

Hello , i have had cats all my 16 years lol , including 2 kittens we have now
Use boiling hot water with a very tiny amount of washing up liqued , put some elbow crease in it and scrub hard!
then while it is damp put a towel on it for 5 hours ish
And as a last resort and ur desperate spend a few quid on vansish put with boiling water and scrub and do the towel trick!
Hope that helps!

Hi all - great advice. I have another level to our 'problem', my cat was sick on my fabric sofa the other day and it was a bit 'dollop' so a lot of the 'liquid' *bleugh* would have soaked into the foam filling.....how am I going to get that out??? The covers are removable so I'm assuming they are ok to stick in the washing machine but im concerned about smells and bacteria deep in the foam...
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

I washed the covers from this chair and they did shrink to the point where the almost fitted the child's version.I was panicking big style.
I washed them again in luke warm water, spun on a high speed cyle and then put them back on the frame wet. It was a bit of a tight fit but they stretched out again and were perfectly fine.
I washed them all the time after that .....until the black cover ended up a pale shade of grey.
Edit: I've only just realised this thread is over 4 years old. The OP probably hasn't even got the chair anymore. :rotfl:Herman - MP for all!0 -
Use biological washing powder to wash the foam in the bath. Rinse well and dry thoroughly.0
