Hi
I have a spare Scart and HDMI cable in the wall which I can attach to my HD Panasonic TV, however none of these is compatible with the Wii. Does anyone have any ideas. I can get a female Scart to VGA converter, but i'd rather use the HDMI cable. Any ideas?0 -

This is how I got my Wii to send picture via HDMI using Ebay-sourced items;
- £3 Wii to Component cable
- £35 Component to HDMI converter
- £2 HDMI cable
Note that the converter doesn't do sound from component (those cost lots more). It wasn't an issue for me as I wanted surround sound through my amp anyway. I simply plugged the Y Pb Pr plugs into the converter for picture through HDMI, and the component sound plugs go directly into the amp.
Not cheap, but better picture than composite and just a single signal cable to the TV (amp is also an HDMI switch).
PS Bought a decent wireless Wii sensor for under £10 so I don't have that cable to bother with either0 -
Hi, I did a search on Google and came across this thread. I too have been looking for a solution to get an HDMI output from my Nintendo Wii. Not because I expect a better quality of output, I know the best the Wii can do is 480p via component, but because my TV is wall mounted and I have fed 3 HDMI cables to it, but no component video cables.
After a lot of research I ended up buying one from here cable-shop.co.uk/product.php/463/nintendo-wii-hdmi-converter-kit . I saw that there were lots of places on the net selling component video to HDMI converters, however most did not handle the audio, a few I found that did, still relied on me having to buy a Wii to component video cable (like the ones linked to above), however this is the only one I found that had everything I needed (and a 1.0m HDMI cable that I didn't need!).
Anyway, plugged it in last night and I can report it works really well! :T There's a noticeable improvement over the pre-supplied lead that comes with the Wii that I was temporarily using, and because I found this thread useful when I first started my search, I thought I'd share my feedback with everyone.0 -
Hey yo can also check out some of the cables that has been mentioned here forums.techarena.in/portable-devices/1449638.htm, these hdmi cables have been found to be working well without any issues. Bets of luck.0
