E7Even

Hello
I wish I could talk positively about E7/Touch telecom, but I cannot.
I have not had a clear week without problems since joining a couple of months ago!
Currently, very poor connection speeds (less than half daytime speed) after about 4.00pm which they state is a contention issue and are looking into it over the next few weeks!
"We apologise for the slow speeds you are experiencing, this is due to the fact that ADSL is a contended service, so during peak times the speeds may decrease. Our engineers are looking into this and are making changes day by day to increase the speed during peak hours; their work should be fully completed in the next few weeks."[/I]
Customer service are almost impossible to get hold of on the telephone anymore.
Talking of telephones; I decided to join Touch Telecom at the offer price of £49/year for all 01 & 02 calls.
Very good on paper!
However, have experienced many 'dropped calls' which they acknowledge. Failiure to connect to a number with the 'out of service' continuous tone given. However, when dialling 1280 (to route through BT) the call is connected. This has happened lots of times. Also, an 'out of service' tone given when a number is engaged, or a mobile is switched off (again checked using 1280).
I complained to Touch, who acknowledged their liability and stated that their engineers are aware of the problems which "should improve over the next few weeks"
Now where have I heard that before?
My parents are currently looking for broadband, and a cheaper telecoms provider and I cannot recommend E7/Touch Telecom as things stand.
Unless things improve dramatically over the "next few weeks" I will have to consider moving on at a loss, unless VISA are prepared to wrestle the money from E7 on the basis that they are not supplying what I paid for, or something along those lines?
Think carefully before being seduced purely by the prices
I have learned a valuable lesson
Cheers

CelticPrince mate, i completely agree with you!!! The ONLY thing good about e7even is the price..nothing else. Sorry to use a cliche but at the end of the day you get what you pay for. I've been with e7 for about 2 months on 512Kbps (2 year deal) and in the next few days i will cancel my broadband with them, though refund will be minus 3 months charges. Why am i cancelling? primarily like Celtic Prince mentioned e7 broadband speeds are erratic to say the least. I will pay 3 times more per month (29.99) to get a quality 3Mb connection with Telebria (through Wi-MAX). Lesson learnt: cheapest isn't necessarily always the best!0

Although I agree that the download speeds haven't been acceptable while there was that issue since it has been sorted my 1mb has been constantly above 940ish every day so I can't complain. Now this site has speeded up a bit things are even better. So if things stay as they are I won't consider leaving. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

It can't be denied that e7even have had problems in the last few weeks, I have experienced the poor speeds at peak times. However, my connection seems to be sorted out now and speeds have returned to normal, I would say good to excellent.
It must be very frustrating to anyone who has joined e7even during this period, but I can say that I had no speed issues previous to this - constant high speeds at all times of the day.
Hopefully everyone's problems will be ironed out and speeds will return to normal, as mine have.0 -
For the last three weeks the line speds have been crap I have had download speeds slower than the upload. There would seem to be somthing is very wrong as they have Multi 155 pipes, and there is only a few who have as many. usualy they get over any glitch in two or three days, and post it on there site, but not this time.
Only once pre this have I had any trouble, I usualy get a good speed considering I have a slow BT line.
So hold of for now and see what happens0 -
Today my speed was down to about the same as dial up then I lost the connection for several hours.0

No service interruptions here since the major outage a while ago.
Something's going on though, my speeds have been up and down like a yo-yo for a few weeks, but since the end of last week they have been excellent, even during peak hours.
Mind you, I'm only on 512kbps being out in the sticks...0
