An interesting article here:

It seems that e7even is run by The Big Music record label, and they check for file sharing and threaten to sue people who have been caught. They then request that you settle out of court. Maybe this subsidises the cheap prices?0 -
For over a week I've been having very slow connection speeds and restricted access to my usual sites. The reason is on E7even site.

Awaiting component from supplier to resolve issue.
I've not found their customer services as efficient as other people when my complaints about the reliability of their wireless router was making my ability to connect and stay connected a constant worry. They did in the end accept my complaint and refund my money but only after a considerable amount of aggravation on my part.
Although I would like to refer people to e7even and benefit from the referral fee I do not feel it would be fair given the aggravation I have experienced and the continuing problems with speed and connectivity.

Have you had a look at the E7Even forum on the ADSLGuide site? If you post there you can get responses from E7Even technical staff as well as from other users of this ISP. I see there is already a long thread running about bad performance at the moment. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Hopefully they will get round to fixing it sometime but it's irritating to have to keep trying for a decent connection. I thought broadband was going to be the end of my problems but it seems to be just a different set of problems. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Part of the problem is the cheap prices charged by a lot of ISPs. This leaves them less money to invest in their network and support staff. I'm with Zen, for their service I pay a LOT more than deals advertised on these boards, but in return I've got a service that is second to none (I chose speed, reliability and service over price). Have a look at the Zen forum on the ADSLGuide site. You hardly ever see any problems posted (I can't remember the last one, unlike all the other ISP boards). Most of the discussion on the Zen forum recently has been about other ISPs (it used to be about Zen coffee mugs and baked beans). This is the sign of a truly decent ISP, when there is nothing to complain about. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Latest e7 news:
Update: 14:38:04 03-10-2005.
We are expecting the component needed to resolve this problem to be delivered on Tuesday the 4th of October 2005. The component will then be installed and brought online by 7pm. This should restore the service to optimum levels for all.
So hopefully problems should be fixed tomorrow... :j0 -
Have to admit to feeling a tad fed up with this E7even problem and I would have to agree that their customer service (0905, 0870, 0845) telephone numbers, have been way below what I find acceptable. Their e-mail support is a lot better (you do get reasonable quick responses).
Having said all this I've just gone thorugh ADSLGuide and used their 'compare' feature, I've then selected all the ones that have beaten E7even on speed / service and looked at what they have to offer and I am now less certain that I would leave E7even (assuming my contract was up tomorrow). And YES, one of my main considerations was price (currently running a 2Mbs, unlimited d/load for the equivellent price of £10pm)Personal Responsibility - Sad but True

Latest update:
Update: 15:09:41 04-10-2005.
The components have been delivered and installed. Our network and the Internet, should be running at optimum speeds. Our engineers will monitor the network over the next 24 hours and if the network proves to be stable, this fault will be closed.
My connection looks spot-on on ADSLguide speed test, hopefully all will be OK later when load increases...0 -

No, neither am I...
Upstream is fine, the downstream was running at 58.4kB/s earlier (excellent for my 512kb connection) but has fallen back to around 30kB/s.0
