Are they any good? A friend is looking for an ISP and I'm thinking of recommending these to them as they're cheap and offer unlimited access. They don't give a modem but you can buy one, does anyone know any cheap good modems they can recommend? Also there doesn't seem to be a contact number fo signing-up either.

Sign up is done on-line at https://www.e7even.com. I have been with them for a short while and am happy with the service. There was a short period where a BT problem meant service was lost. E7 credited all users 1 week for this short break in service.
I have seen some reports that on-line gamers find the service unsuitable.
I think E7 are currently offering a free modem - check out their site. If offer is finished, buy a cheap modem/router from ebuyer. I would recommend one with a 4 port router such as model SAMR 4114.0 -
Prices are good however payment is a year or two years in advance.0

You can pay monthly on the 1Mb or faster services, but the best deals are for paying 12 or 24 months up front. The free modem is OK, but I would take the alternative of free double speed upgrade - that's if BT could give me anything faster than 512k :wall:
As scotty says, cheap good modems at ebuyer.com
I've found e7 excellent so far... :j
Don't forget to check out the referrer's thread for e7, there are a number of great MSE'ers who will split their referral fee with you.

Alcatel Speedtouch PCI ADSL broadband Modem can be found on ebay for about £4 including delivery. Ideal if you only want to connect one pc.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

E7even are great! I went with them after reading this site and have had no problems so far. I was with Tascali and their service was terrible. I originally went for the 1mb connection for £170 for the year and took out an extension with an offer they are doing to double my speed and extend it for 4 months for an additional £50. Now I'm paid up till Jan 07 on a 2mb connection, all for £14 a month. Never seen anything better.Giving up is easy...... just keep on trying!0

I been with e7even for nearly a month and I have found them fine; pay with credit card if paying for up to a year or so -- so you are covered; you will need micro-filters for all your phone plugs not just the one where your is located as I think they just send one. The installation was quick and easy. So far impressed0

Is this a good one? Do mind spending a few bob as long as it's a decent one.2p off is still 2p off!0 -
I'm using one and have had no problems. You don't get a line cord with it so you need to buy one. I think they are a better solution than usb modems.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

Have been using e7even for 10wks+. Only the one glitch referred to by others and unlike BTopenworld where glitches seldom showed on their status reports and they certainly didn't give you any credit for them, e7even's online status report showed the situation AND as reported for <1 day of disruption they provided a 7 day credit.
They also READ emails sent to them and RESPOND to what you write, and usually within a couple of hours, not days or weeks.
AND during the period they have sent several offers of further upgrades and deals that have attracted me - eg to 4Mbps next month, and a year's 01/02 calls at great prices.
Definitely worth a try - though obviously pay them more than £100 on your credit card and get legal/£ protection for the delivery of the service from the credit card company in addition to e7even.0 -
E7even are ok, I've been with them for 6 months and in that time I've took up 2 of their offers because they were very reasonalble, I've upgraded to 1Kbps and I've took an extra 6 months on my subscription both offers were excellent, offers are made all the time for new subscribers and for existing subscribers. As said previously, their e-mail response time is excellent and their fairness to all matters too is great.0
